This is one of the most horrifying things about the US to me. Not this specifically, but the fact that if you suffer enough in prison to just try to end it all you get tortured even worse. This place is literally hell

I just realised that a lot of "survival food" like chickpeas and rice, stuff that keeps well for a long time and is also really cheap, is much, much easier to make a delicious meal out of than whatever this is. This isn't even likely to be the cheapest option for the US military to feed their troops, this is probably on their plates because of a grift.

Simplot IQF carrot disks, precooked burger patty with smoke flavor added, and something heavily oxidized, preformed, maybe chicken/turkey that is in the process of spoiling? The other tray is either shredded pork or beef, with textured soy protein added, and some of the worst tortillas ever created, stabilizers and who knows what else. All heavily processed.
That looks just like jailhouse chow. Lol.
