Another delicious little detail about her victory that wasn't mentioned in c/electoralism is who he opponent in the primary was

Yeah that's right she beat that Alex Vindman

Being an A-list liberal darling during Trump 1 didn't save his campaign, the seemingly undying hatred for Russia didn't save his campaign and even that shitty little cameo on Curb Your Enthusiasm a couple of years ago didn't save him

I'm sure being an ardent zionist who openly supports the genocide, being racist and condescending to Nixon, refusing to debate her and acting like he already won didn't help him either

This is a whole new precedent going forward, I may not go this far but this analysis from r/trueanon sounds solid if a bit optimistic

It may have finally happened, libs may actually care more about Palestine than ukkkraine and we should take advantage of thia as much as we can

[–] PKMKII@hexbear.net 22 points 2 weeks ago (3 children)

In a lot of ways, the Slava Ukraini libs set themselves up for it. Everything they convinced people Russia was horrible for doing to Ukraine, Israel ended up doing 2x worse and with less believable apologia to Gaza. There was too much cognitive dissonance in the “support Ukraine but not Palestine” position to hold water.

[–] Evilsandwichman@hexbear.net 27 points 2 weeks ago

There was literally a Ukrainian guy who got famous for giving a Russian soldier (a seed?) and saying he hopes his blood will water the seed

Only one Gazan ever got close enough to the IOF without getting shot, and that was an old grandfather they gave some water to for a photoshoot, and THEN they shot him and left him for his granddaughter to find; the IOF are so evil it's not even comical; the red skull is literally not this ludicrously evil

doing 2x worse

The Russians would have to be shockingly evil for them to only be half as evil as Israel; for one thing Russia was open to peace negotiations and nearly had it (in 2022?) if it hadn't been for America and Britain; heck, this whole thing only happened because their attempt at a peaceful resolution (with entirely reasonable demands) back in 2014 was fought against tooth and nail; there is no comparison between anything Russia is doing and Israel

[–] miz@hexbear.net 21 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago)

hold water

like the water that the Zionists were explicitly and vocally not allowing into Gaza after bombing its water infrastructure, while Ukrainian water infrastructure has not been targeted by Russia

[–] krolden@lemmy.ml 5 points 2 weeks ago

And then they're all like 'how can u support the Palestinians but not the ukranians?!? Curious...'

[–] UmbraVivi@hexbear.net 21 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Russiagate was always an artificially pushed narrative and when the people on the TV stopped talking about it, it died. Russia doesn't impact the average American's life in any way so they don't care unless the people on the TV don't consistently tell them to.

[–] krolden@lemmy.ml 4 points 2 weeks ago

Same thing with any outrage over facebooks apparent part in all that. Back then the libs were like "omg everyone needs to delete their Facebook zuck got trump elected"

Now they're right back on there crying about trump.

[–] Lussy@hexbear.net 15 points 2 weeks ago

Ngl some of the shit libs came up with was straight out of pulp fiction and was definitely a vibe. I’d love to live in the world in which the FSB was coordinating Donald’s diaper routine but it was obvious to anyone with a brain it was too good to be true.

Their audience has been primed to go into a programmed kill-state when they see stuff like this

[–] refolde@hexbear.net 22 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

American sleeper agent lobes.

[–] WhatDoYouMeanPodcast@hexbear.net 12 points 2 weeks ago

Lobes imply they have brains susie-laugh

"Oh this doesn't sound so bad. wait.. does medicare for all include black people?" - how I imagine fox news watchers be like

[–] Fayne@hexbear.net 14 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Fox News fans would support DEI for medicare if they found that the Southern DEMOCRATS have pushed through exclusionary policies during FDR's New Deal

[–] CthulhusIntern@hexbear.net 14 points 2 weeks ago

They would support taking down Confederate statues if we said they were taking down statues of Democrats.

[–] Lussy@hexbear.net 30 points 2 weeks ago

Notice how being anti Israel is not on the list, because everyone hates Israel.

[–] InevitableSwing@hexbear.net 24 points 2 weeks ago

Democratic consultants furiously typing prompts into AI like...

Take Angie Nixon's list and convert it into a neoliberal list that sounds good but requires absolutely minimal change.

A vote for Bart etc etc

If I'm being honest, I can easily see this, on their terms, being beneficial for the economy. Well and housed people whose kids are taken care of are good for the economy and the future economy. If people are in a jobs program they're not playing baseball in the street or whatever they're afraid of

[–] Soot@hexbear.net 22 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago) (1 children)

It was this realisation that truly radicalised me - Universal healthcare, food, childcare, housing, good welfare, well-defended equality and rights, these things are GOOD for the economy. Never mind the workers - these things would make the RICH bourgeois class richer.

And they're still against them. Because extremely short-term profits are better. And control over a beaten, oppressed class is easier. And you feel more on-top if you punish everyone else enough. People say capitalism is about profit - but it isn't. It's about capital ever-more concentrating the world's wealth into itself, whether by profit, theft, or simply destroying all other wealth.

Capitalism is a suicidal and sadistic death cult.

[–] Lussy@hexbear.net 12 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago) (1 children)

You’re attributing a sense of morality to them that they simply do not have. They want blood and murder, it’s as straight forward as that.

Bit idea: pull a Hitler and call the vanguard party the Republicans for logic and economics

[–] robot_dog_with_gun@hexbear.net 4 points 2 weeks ago

wouldn't that be a reverse-hitler?

a charismatic figure like trump could probably trick them into doing all sorts of social programs but idk if some generic infiltrators could.

[–] edge@hexbear.net 8 points 2 weeks ago

Left leaning policies can accomplish so many of conservatives' stated goals.

[–] Renin@hexbear.net 16 points 2 weeks ago
  • They think EVIL GOVERNMENT will take away their money and give it to other people.
  • They think EVIL SOCIALIST will take away their right to rent out their property.
  • They think SOCIALISTS will force everyone to get a job.
  • They think COMMUNISTS will take away all their wealth through mega tax.
  • They think they will destroy America and all it's borders.
[–] miz@hexbear.net 16 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago) (2 children)

take a minute and look at this as though you are a grumpy 65-year-old living alone whose income is from their dozens of rental properties

EDIT: you might have a spouse but you live alone in your head even so

[–] Lussy@hexbear.net 11 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago) (1 children)

If I was 65 and living off property income, I’d question what went so terribly wrong that I’m watching this shit and not getting my dick sucked in Saint Thomas. Would seriously consider calling it and just ending things.

But then again, I’m not an ugly miscreant so it’s hard to see it from their persoective.

[–] TreadOnMe@hexbear.net 13 points 2 weeks ago

Your mind is too logical. They simultaneously hate Epstein and think that they are destroying America, but also Trump is who will save America because he is a smart business-man who understands business, unlike those damn socialists who we (not him specifically, even if he did serve it was sitting on some cushy base position in a non conflict zone) spent so much fighting.

They are genuinely incoherent, and it is absolutely possible to just argue circles around them, but they will just admit they are wrong but continue to believe the same things.

[–] Evilsandwichman@hexbear.net 10 points 2 weeks ago

In a vacuum this looks fine, but then you'd have to remember the people watching this are Fox news fans

[–] Evilphd666@hexbear.net 12 points 2 weeks ago

two-wolves-1 Universal Jobs Program

ABOLISH I.C.E. two-wolves-2

smuglord checkmate lefties.

[–] Lemmygradwontallowme@hexbear.net 10 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago) (1 children)

I suspect they were copying the Demonrat tactic of propping up the more 'outlandish' candidates, whether they are socdem teachers called 'tankie' or Adolfo Mussolini 2.0, as to 'sabotage' the other party's campaign or something. This could work, if you're taught to hate these people, like some sort of Pavlov's dog experiment. This is called the Pied Piper strategy

Unfortunately, Republiremoved vulgar word media, like Demonrat themselves, don't exactly get that this could have the risk of backfiring.

[–] SockOlm@hexbear.net 6 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago) (1 children)

Republiremoved vulgar word media

Huh? Is this a custom word filter or why is the message different

[–] miz@hexbear.net 6 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago)

it's Lemmygradwontallowme's way of implying c*nt without actually typing it

[–] Hohsia@hexbear.net 9 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Unfortunately there are still people out there who hate these things, and they watch Fox News.

[–] krolden@lemmy.ml 1 points 2 weeks ago

They just think they do because they never got to experience the benefits of them
