IMHO the major world powers are more afraid of how their economies would collapse. We're extremely interwoven now. What's keeping China away from Taiwan is what they've seen in Ukraine and Iran.

Ah I've heard a secret whisper saying when the uap's were hovering over them(80's or 90's can't recall) no nukes work. When they tried a test shot once. One hit it with a beam and made in inert. Somewhere in between is the truth I imagine
