People keep ignoring the fact that Obama struck a deal with Iran that stopped their nuclear weapons program.

Trump killed american troops to get a deal that's worse than the one we already had.

[–] drgeppo@lemmy.world 38 points 3 days ago (3 children)

that shit is making me crazy.. why do I, random European dude, remember trump breaking the Iran deal all those years ago, and no fucking journalist today dares to put a wee little reminder at the beginning of every article just to get all up to speed? wtf man

[–] ICastFist@programming.dev 8 points 3 days ago

Prolly the same reason mainstream media "forgot" to mention Operation Cyclone back in late 2001 and early 2002, or how they intentionally swallowed the screamingly obvious bullshit of "Iraq has WMDs"

[–] bitjunkie@lemmy.world 5 points 3 days ago

Because western mainstream media has been captured by the same interests who are betting on oil futures right before Donnie Dipshit tweets about it

just give us a few days before rubbing his nose in it. he might not lose it so bad

[–] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 14 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago) (2 children)

ah but you seem to ignore that obama was a secret kenyan. he was all sneaky about it, being born in hawaii the way he was.

[–] DagwoodIII@piefed.social 3 points 3 days ago

I think it was Letterman who asked Obama why Trump had it in for him.

"I don't know, he's been like that ever since we were kids together back in Kenya."

[–] housedogpartyfavor@lemmy.zip 3 points 3 days ago

and don’t even get me started about benghazi

[–] FatVegan@leminal.space 5 points 3 days ago

He couldn't handle the fact that a black guy bombed more brown kids than him.

A Zionist twat. Hope terrible things happen to him.

[–] chloroken@lemmy.ml 9 points 3 days ago (1 children)

He starred in a movie about Poptarts. He is indeed having terrible things happen to him, rest assured.

Also whenever I hear the man speak, I get the sensation I'm listening to a very unintelligent person that nobody has ever called out.

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 6 points 3 days ago (1 children)

You don't appreciate his 90s cutting edge observational humor about airline travel and unusual foods and whatnot and suchlike?

[–] chloroken@lemmy.ml 8 points 3 days ago (1 children)

His standup was always shit tier, but admittedly I enjoyed his sitcom for one reason: Jason Alexander.

[–] fishy@lemmy.today 2 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Same as all of us. Basically Larry David but somehow better than the actual man.

[–] Alenalda@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago (1 children)

A laugh track has never put in so much work.

[–] fishy@lemmy.today 2 points 2 days ago

I dunno man, I saw it busting it's ass over at the big bang set

[–] CubitOom@infosec.pub 63 points 3 days ago

Remember, Jerry Seinfeld is not just a Zionist, but he also "dated" a 17 year old girl when he was 38. So best case, he is a genocidal groomer.

[–] kingofras@lemmy.world 66 points 3 days ago (6 children)

It’s not so Iran can make more money, it’s for Russia. Also it helped distract us from the fact that indicted bibi is continuing with a 2nd genocide for his Greater Israel sideproject.

[–] felixwhynot@lemmy.world 22 points 3 days ago (2 children)
[–] kingofras@lemmy.world 15 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Actually yes, because this allows him to regroup, move slow moving carrier groups into position and secure oil supplies/put measures in place to keep at least Red Sea/Suez open when he continues it. Possibly also see who at CENTCOM has been reluctant to carry out war crimes, and do some more replacements there.

I can’t believe how people are falling for it, every time he pumps and dumps. This isn’t going to stop. It will only get worse. One guy is a blackmailed pedophile with demential and the biggest nuclear arsenal, the other is a criminal delusional religious radical who would rather die, than give up this Greater Israel crusade.

I’ll be another few years before we get to Christmas.

Don't forget, this was also a distraction for the Epstein files release and the fact that he raped children.

[–] UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world 8 points 3 days ago

it’s for Russia

Americans shitting the bed in the Middle East every day for fifty years

"Yeah, uh, actually that was Russia. Russia did that."

[–] sharkfucker420@lemmy.ml 8 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago) (1 children)

To be clear this is copy and pasted but it is critical information about the motivations behind our aggression towards Iran that doesn't depend on the dubious claim that Russia secretly controls the largest economic and military power of the last century.

To be entirely clear, a large contingent of the US ruling class has been frothing at the mouth to invade Iran for decades. It should not be surprising that it happened and we should not blame our governments aggression on foreigners. That rhetoric is a useful tool to reduce the fury you should rightfully feel towards our rulers.

I favor the theory that it was now or never.

They've overused sanctions and have kickstarted dedollarization. For the same reason they kidnapped Maduro, they only had few years before it reached an irreversible tipping point. They had to capture Iran's oil and monopolize it to keep the petrodollar alive.

And.

Iran was becoming a harder and harder target to attack militarily, and it had just defeated their attempt at color revolution by demonstrating it could defeat their Starlink operation on the ground. The longer they waited, the more rockets and missiles Iran would have to retaliate against US assets. The post-color revolutionary period was actually the weakest Iran would ever be ever again.

And.

China is a rising juggernaut, and Iran plays a role in that rise. They've signed on to join the Belt and Road initiative, China was key to restoring relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia, Iran is a key oil supplier for China, Iran is a member of BRICS, and China has also been investing heavily in Iran's infrastructure. It wouldn't be long before the sanctions didn't even matter anymore because Iran will be able to sell and buy everything it needs without the West.

And.

Israel is no longer a viable settler project. The promise of Israel was that it would be a walled garden in the wilderness, an imperial core lifestyle with superior fire power and a perfect missile defense system and an omniscient surveillance system. Hamas blew that myth up during the Al Aqsa flood, now Israel isn't getting new settlers anymore and many settlers are trying to leave. It's why they've had to ban Israelis from flying out of the country. If the Axis of Resistance isn't destroyed, Israel is finished.

And I'm sure there's more. Basically, if Iran doesn't fall within the next few months, the US empire will begin an irreversible decline.

Buckle up

[–] UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world 7 points 3 days ago

China is a rising juggernaut

China was a rising juggernaut twenty years ago.

They're the lynchpin of the global economy today.

[–] Resonosity@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 3 days ago (2 children)

Aren't all ships paying in Chinese Yuan, not Russian Ruble?

China has more to gain from all of this than Russia.

They aren't charging $2mill. They are charging ¥2mil or crypto equivalent. They are intention demolishing the Petrodollar.

More power to them.

[–] UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world 16 points 3 days ago (4 children)

They are intention demolishing the Petrodollar.

I think Climate Change and explosion of alternative energy sources is doing that.

They're just trying to evade Western financial restrictions. Dollars aren't useful to a country that's cut out of the LIBOR and SWIFT banking systems.

[–] shawn1122@sh.itjust.works 7 points 3 days ago (1 children)

It's not just about how useful the dollar is to Iran, it's about making it less useful to other countries also.

If Iranian oil is back on the market there will be a lot of interested buyers. If it's only sold in yuan or crypto.

The petrodollar wasn't going to last forever youre right but there are many parties interested in ending it sooner than later.

2mil yuan is roughly 292k dollars. No idea how much that is compared to other shipping costs

[–] the_armchair_potato@lemmy.world 20 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Not so Iran can make more money....it's for Russia to make more money, duh. Almost everything he does benefits Russia. It's so blatantly obvious, too. Russia has some real good shit on this clown.

[–] OhStopYellingAtMe@lemmy.world 6 points 3 days ago

“Israel and/or Russia first”

[–] Grail@multiverse.soulism.net 23 points 3 days ago (2 children)

You are correct.

And a pedophile

[–] ikidd@lemmy.world 29 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

Oh, don't forget that now the oil that actually gets through is being traded in yuan and RMB instead of USD, so now the petrodollar is starting to slip away, which is the only reason the dollar can keep it's strength because it leverages every other countries energy budget to contribute to US GDP.

This was true weapons-grade stupidity for that stable genius.

This reminds me of that meme where a dad says "our cat just got eaten by a coyote so i'm gonna get a new cat from the animal shelter" and the friend says "well it just sounds like you're feeding stray cats to coyotes" and then the daughter started crying ...

[–] Ghyste@sh.itjust.works 32 points 3 days ago (1 children)

He thinks he's going to be taking a chunk of those fees. Dumbass.

[–] edgemaster72@lemmy.world 15 points 3 days ago

Given his understanding of tariffs, this would not surprise me at all

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 17 points 3 days ago (1 children)

probably seinfeld is a bad example of being used, hes a zionist, his wife has funded prozionist groups, and he loves the war thats going on.

And he's a pedophile

[–] Objection@lemmy.ml 10 points 3 days ago (1 children)

I'm not saying that Trump has embraced the divine light of Allah and is doing all this to ensure that the US has to keep giving the Islamic Republic money years and years after he's gone.

I'm just saying, he did recently tweet "Praise be to Allah." 🤔🤔🤔

Imagine if they actually had nukes...maybe the toll is not so bad??? I'm so confused.

[–] shawn1122@sh.itjust.works 5 points 3 days ago (1 children)

One can imagine that being told "a civilization will die tonight" will act as motivation for them to get one.

[–] ICastFist@programming.dev 4 points 3 days ago (1 children)

I recall a political cartoon back when Gaddafi was killed, it was Mahmoud Ahmadinejad (then president of Iran) and Kim Jong Un watching the bombing of Lybia under USA flag, with one asking "What message do you get from this?", and the other replying "Build more nukes!"

[–] redbrick@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

So true...I guess Ukraine did not get the memo.
