Well they didn't have luck with the cloud with Stadia, so I guess they decided to try Cloud instead

Maybe they're mad because yeast doesn't need 3 days to make bread rise

I wouldn’t mind paying a small subscription to cover compute costs and retain neutrality.

If Netflix, Amazon Prime, etc. are anything to go by, big tech has found it much more profitable to serve you ads (and sell your data) than take a pittance from you to avoid them. Don't hold out hope for anything like what you're describing.

Because:

  1. I didn't really have the energy to job hunt while working 40 hours.
  2. I thought things would get better. I thought I was getting better at dealing with things.
  3. I just kind of fell into doing IT support and didn't have the education, training, connections, or experience to do much else.
  4. I wanted to have more money in savings so I could move out of my parents house.
  5. When I quit the job prior to that, I was unemployed for 6 months and it was one of the lowest points of my life, so I refused to quit again.

I ended up getting fired, spent the better part of 6 years unemployed after that (see point 3), now I work part time in food service so I only occasionally hate my job, I still live with my parents, I try not to hold illusions about #2 anymore, and #1 is still true but with less hours worked.

Human walks into another room:

I've never seen this thing before in my life.

I was under the impression that all communion bread/wafers/crackers/whatever were at best, bland and perhaps a little stale. But I've also never taken communion so 🤷‍♂️

That and the changing every in-game hour. I'm rarely tracking time down to the hour, so it would either slow things down if they try to make any kind of scene out of it, or we're just going to gloss over multiple changes, potentially making the whole thing moot. Then you get into a dungeon and someone might be locked out of "their" character for a large chunk of playtime.

Tracking who controlled for longer to determine the next level up sounds pretty tedious too, but I guess that would be the players' problem to sort out, not the DM's. I would worry that it may be an unforeseen detriment to their enjoyment though.

Pretty sure this is child trafficking, thankfully they have those latches in the trunks now so that little car can escape

Gowron for Chancellor 2028

Was looking through Druid cantrips when I was struck by inspiration (no not that kind. no not that other kind)

I don't often have dreams or remember my dreams, when I do they're usually either me somehow being back in school despite graduating over 20 years ago, or I'm living some better version of my life that I end up feeling bad about after I wake up. But I've had a couple recently that were a bit out of the ordinary for me and are making me wonder if it's possible to have a dream that, albeit a fictional scenario, seems otherwise plausible and logical.

For instance, the dream I just had involved me arriving at work (which I always drive to because USA), but in my dream I didn't drive. When I got there I put a blanket down in a parking space, then pretended to pull a car into the space over the blanket, and pretended to also lock up the car afterward. I acknowledged a fellow "coworker" (I put this in quotes because it wasn't someone I recognize from real life but in the context of the dream I knew them as a coworker) passing by as I "parked" my "car" and they treated it as perfectly normal. As an aside while I type this, I don't know that I've ever driven in a dream I had.

As I approached the store I work at (which was in the location of an old job I had ~20 years ago rather than my current job's location), there was a sticker on the door saying that the store had changed locations, but didn't say where or have any other details. Given I had just worked there yesterday this came as a surprise to me and my other "coworkers" outside (quotes again because none of them were actual people I work with).

Among said coworkers was one person dressed in a suit (I work in food service) who was actually like 3 different colored versions of the same person (think of a multiplayer game like Gauntlet where you have like a red wizard, yellow wizard, etc.). He was arguing with someone else that he was a warlock lawyer, the other person was insisting he's a wizard. As I looked around the crowd of my coworkers gathered outside I saw the only person I recognize from my actual life, my boss's boss, our district manager, who also was unaware of the store moving location, and was trying to find out more information.

Anyway, that's where the dream ended, thanks for reading this far if you have. What weird dreams have you had lately? Do you remember having any dreams that just made you go "yeah, that seemed normal, I could see that happening hypothetically?"

Pretty much the title. I have time to go see a movie this week, but can't decide between Novocaine and Mickey 17. No spoilers, please and thank you.

Edit: Thanks for the input all, I've decided to see Novocaine based on your comments.

Currently, if your eyes are closed you can still get a sense of the light around you, and moving your head around you can tell if you're moving it toward or away from a light source (barring maybe if you're outdoors and it's bright out all around you).

But what if when we closed our eyes it was like full blackout? Would blinking become disorienting? Could it mess up circadian rhythms? Something else? Or would it not really matter?

Hi all, not sure if there's a better place in the fediverse to ask, but I'm looking for suggestions for a 2 player game. Something that is pretty quick in terms of set up, learning, and play. My go to for this scenario right now is the Tacocat game by the makers of Exploding Kittens, but I'd like to branch out and try some others if they fit the bill. Doesn't necessarily have to be for 2 players specifically but preferable if that's what it's designed for. Heck doesn't necessarily have to be a board game really, just something to play face to face (I mean, I don't really know what the alternative would be other than a straight up card game but that's why I'm asking for recommendations).
