It's all fun and gig until you remember that there was enough of these illiterate nut jobs in the US to elect Trump. TWICE!

[–] Lost_My_Mind@lemmy.world 32 points 3 days ago (2 children)

Once.

I still maintain the 2024 election was rigged. Not because I'm a sore loser, but because before the election trump was bragging that they rigged the election.

[–] a_non_monotonic_function@lemmy.world 4 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I mean, you're not wrong. Musk paid some actors a million dollars to perpetuate a fantasy that your average person could get rich by voting for Trump. It was also recently revealed that he f***** with the Georgia elections illegally. God knows what actually happened.

But the sad truth is still that lots of Americans wanted this s*** and still do. We're hurting the right people and haven't hurt them enough.

[–] Lost_My_Mind@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

We’re hurting the right people and haven’t hurt them enough.

Uhhhhh.......you wanna clarify that last part?

Sorry, the idiots in my country want to hurt just about any minority they can. As long as the GOP is putting more pain on the "others" than Trump's voting base they will likely keep supporting him.

At this point people are supporting his hate more than anything else.

[–] brown567@sh.itjust.works 4 points 2 days ago

And after the election!

[–] db2@lemmy.world 17 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Doubt that's actually true. Remember how every accusation is a confession with them, they've been accusing others of rigging elections. I seriously doubt that is the single exception.

[–] alekwithak@lemmy.world 14 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Every confession is a confession too, and they've come out and said it multiple times.

[–] db2@lemmy.world 15 points 3 days ago

Yeah I'll never understand that one. He literally said the popular votes don't matter and he has all he needs. That's a pretty fucking blatant confession and nobody did anything at all about it.

[–] angstylittlecatboy@reddthat.com 4 points 3 days ago (1 children)

"To hell with the Alamo" doesn't read as a Trump supporter statement to me.

[–] nexguy@lemmy.world 9 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

I agree.

But "To hell with the Alimo" does.

[–] SnarkoPolo@lemmy.world 5 points 2 days ago

How much you want to wager, we pay for that truck and for the time it took them to put that poetry on it?

[–] icerunner_origin@startrek.website 23 points 3 days ago (1 children)

I have coded in Perl. I prefer to forget.

[–] bus_factor@lemmy.world 6 points 3 days ago (1 children)

I kind of miss Perl, and still write it sometimes. More often than not I end up with python, though, due to the built-in json parser. Everything is json or yaml these days.

[–] nymnympseudonym@piefed.social 3 points 3 days ago (1 children)

I still use perl every day. It's more portable than Java, faster than Python (both to write and execution speed), and makes hard things easy.

[–] SlurpingPus@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

As an avid scripter, I do hate it a bit that Perl is indeed the most viable environment for scripts that run fast and work in most Linux distros and in MacOS.

But I will prefer Lua anyway.

I also remember that after 6th grade I was able to go on to 7th grade. Clearly this individual was not.

[–] tanisnikana@lemmy.world 7 points 3 days ago

New rule, if you can’t spell at a middle-school level, you are not allowed to drive.

[–] Krudler@lemmy.world 5 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

That puts over 60% of the American population on the bus.

[–] parzival@lemmy.org 3 points 3 days ago

[–] chicken@sh.itjust.works 2 points 3 days ago (2 children)

Why only blurr the license plate in one of the images…?

[–] ickplant@lemmy.world 7 points 3 days ago

Different sources, I just posted them without any additional blurring.

[–] atropa@piefed.social 4 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Privacy Rules don't count for cars

[–] marcos@lemmy.world 2 points 3 days ago (3 children)

They absolutely do apply to license plates. It's just that the post doesn't break any.
