Trump also told the Times that he isn’t opposed to using nuclear force if he “needed it” to take over the Arctic island but that “it might upset NATO," since the island is a self-governing territory of NATO member country Denmark.

All about ego. He has nothing else except to be the biggest bully he can be.

[–] Hossenfeffer@feddit.uk 13 points 7 hours ago (1 children)

It's his emotional support island.

[–] balsoft@lemmy.ml 6 points 5 hours ago

Yeah, because the previous one is non-functional nowadays

My psychiatrist gave me a prescription for an emotional support Greenland, legally you aren’t even allowed to ask me about it other than if it’s an emotional support Greenland, which it is.

Ummm... what? Did the media just sane wash this headline? Trump is ok with nuking his way into owning Greenland and we're just all ok with that?

[–] OneWomanCreamTeam@sh.itjust.works 21 points 12 hours ago

That's still pretty batshit for a statement that's been sane-washed.

*He is the rapist.

Correct.

I think the thing people didn't put together in 2016 his "grab them by the pussy" comment was about children in his beauty pageants.

[–] cheers_queers@lemmy.zip 12 points 12 hours ago (3 children)

understandable. i hear someone use the word pussy and my mind doesnt go right to little girls

Honestly a little impressed he's able to use the word 'psychologically'. That's a lot of syllables.

[–] AllNewTypeFace@leminal.space 45 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

Somebody ought to sit him down and explain the Mercator projection to him.

[–] smeenz@lemmy.nz 23 points 15 hours ago (2 children)

That's way too advanced for a guy who can barely read or write.

Seeing him hang from the neck is psychologically important to me, but I guess we can't always get what we want.

[–] Tar_alcaran@sh.itjust.works 32 points 18 hours ago (1 children)

Honestly, as long as we leave him up, I'm willing to settle for any body part.

Emotional support colonialism

Is there another kind?

[–] ShinkanTrain@lemmy.ml 27 points 15 hours ago

Can someone please just teach him how to play those Paradox map games

[–] vga@sopuli.xyz 7 points 11 hours ago (1 children)

That's honestly the best reason he has given for it so far.

[–] _stranger_@lemmy.world 6 points 8 hours ago

This might be the only true thing he's ever said.

[–] skozzii@lemmy.ca 16 points 14 hours ago (1 children)

I understand he is trying to destroy America, but this would make it nearly instant.

[–] balsoft@lemmy.ml 1 points 5 hours ago

Nah, the US is well-accustomed to handling that sort of thing, done it dozens of times already. What is different is that now it's imperialistic violence against a purported ally, a NATO country. If he invades, this will certainly have knock-on effects later, and I hope it leads to the destruction of the US as a global power eventually - that would be at least one silver lining.

It's similar to how his admin is using the genocidal violence usually designated for poor global south countries, at home, on US citizens. Same tactics, different targets.

"I have a limp dick and can't fuck kids anymore, I need emotional support."

[–] pohart@programming.dev 14 points 14 hours ago

Do we have any evidence that he's stopped?

[–] BananaIsABerry@lemmy.zip 4 points 11 hours ago

Seriously, can't enact his power fantasies on children anymore so somehow he convinced a significant amount of Americans to let him abuse the world as a president instead.

[–] WorldsDumbestMan@lemmy.today 6 points 11 hours ago

At least he is honest...

[–] Someonelol@lemmy.dbzer0.com 14 points 14 hours ago (2 children)

Why won't France and the UK state they'd nuke him back if he tried? They're NATO countries too and need to stand by in solidarity with an ally being attacked. Letting the orange Hitler do as he pleases will only embolden him to go after them later.

What's important for him psychologically, and the whole damn world, is that he takes his meds.

I emailed my senators and my rep to tell them to do fucking SOMETHING about this sabre rattling. Write up some fucking legislation saying that the US cannot invade NATO nations, at the fucking minimum.

Will they listen? Take three guesses, first two don't count.

[–] Sam_Bass@lemmy.world -1 points 5 hours ago

The tiny handed orange toddler "I WANT IT. I WANTS IT!!! WAHHHH. GIVE ME. WAHHH"

Then goes off to think about all those little children he raped with his bestie Jeffery Epstein.

[–] cosmicrookie@lemmy.world 33 points 17 hours ago (1 children)

Would not be the first time that the USA dropped nuclear bombs on Greenland

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1968_Thule_Air_Base_B-52_crash

Although last time they covered it up and caused many workers to die later on due to nuclear exposure

[–] Lost_My_Mind@lemmy.world 36 points 17 hours ago (2 children)

Uhhh....the coverup worked. I'm 42, and this is the first I've ever heard that we nuked Greenland. I feel like that SHOULD be common knowledge, but I'm willing to bet if I ask 100 random people, 0 will think I'm telling the truth if I told them we've nuked Greenland before.

[–] pillowtags@lemmy.dbzer0.com 32 points 16 hours ago* (last edited 16 hours ago) (1 children)

I mean, it’s not accurate to say we nuked them, as no nuclear detonation occurred. We did contaminate the area with radiation and likely harmed the Danish workers assisting in the cleanup.
