Trump also told the Times that he isn’t opposed to using nuclear force if he “needed it” to take over the Arctic island but that “it might upset NATO," since the island is a self-governing territory of NATO member country Denmark.

Would not be the first time that the USA dropped nuclear bombs on Greenland

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1968_Thule_Air_Base_B-52_crash

Although last time they covered it up and caused many workers to die later on due to nuclear exposure

Uhhh....the coverup worked. I'm 42, and this is the first I've ever heard that we nuked Greenland. I feel like that SHOULD be common knowledge, but I'm willing to bet if I ask 100 random people, 0 will think I'm telling the truth if I told them we've nuked Greenland before.

I mean, it’s not accurate to say we nuked them, as no nuclear detonation occurred. We did contaminate the area with radiation and likely harmed the Danish workers assisting in the cleanup.

The cleanup was performed by people who didn't know that these were nuclear weapons though.

Also:

Although they did not work at Camp Hunziker, the Danes worked at the Tank Farm where the contaminated ice was collected, in the port from which the contaminated debris was shipped, and also serviced the vehicles used in the clean-up.

The report also confirmed that the United States stockpiled nuclear weapons in Greenland until 1965, contradicting assurances by Danish foreign minister Niels Helveg Petersen that the weapons were in Greenland's airspace, but never on the ground

I had no idea and am fairly well read. I knew we(understandably,) tried to nuke north carolins with two hydrogen bombs. They did not go off so they declared an oopsie but may have never found one.

Then portugal there was an accident, sent armed forces to clean it up with no warning or gear and they all got cancer.
