It is definitely Israel's interest to take control of social media. Benjamin Netanyahu has said social media is Israel's weapon. The ownership of tiktok is being transfered to Larry Ellison, who is Netanyahu's personal friend. Twitter is owned by Musk, who is loyal to Israel. Facebook/Instagram/Meta is loyal to Israel.

It's no different from those clips of Hillary Clinton from a while ago where she was talking about how it's a problem that people are no longer getting their information on Palestine/Israel from a handful of heavily curated sources. Her implication was obvious, they want to be able to control the narrative again, and this guy is just stating it even more plainly.
