I admit I only know the highlights. It would make sense for Hegseth to focus on appearances over substance.

Having a brain predisposed to fear is one of the hallmarks of being a Right Winger
I mean, insofar as Hegseth has internalized the culture war and can't stop being a fox news host long enough to do his job. I think priming the Military to eventually use it against the American population was the main purpose of this gathering.
He's exhausted, his job is basically begging foreigners for money and weapons, and his family has been in hiding the whole war.
Hard to say he's running the war badly considering that Ukraine still exists 3 years later when most outside observers were wondering if Ukraine would last 3 days.
I mean, there was tons of "we're invading American Cities and Fighting the Enemy within" bullshit too.
I'm guessing IRL Jesus would have started rage flipping tables and whipping people with his belt.
One means kings, one means no kings. We use the term Right to describe a set of political beliefs in which a societal elite rules and power & ideas flow from the top down. The further right you go, the smaller & more exclusive the elite gets, the steeper and stricter hierarchies get. The Left describes a set of political beliefs in which rule is shared or replaced with self rule, hierarchies are shallow or non-existent; power & ideas flow from the bottom up. The further left you go the less you're willing to compromise on those points and the more you start to see economic power as equivalent to political power.
Context my dude. Hunger is a term we apply to people having insufficient food available while you're applying it out of context to the bodily sensation of being motivated to eat.
This cuts at the heart of being a Leftist. Deep inside, we're all secretly convinced that if we can just craft the perfect factually correct well researched well spoken argument, that people will flock to our cause. It just aint true. We can convince some people in that manor but not the majority.
There are in denial or ignorant people who don't have fascists beliefs yet that are politically adjacent to the GOP who might waver, we just can't put all our eggs in one basket.
Since the Iraqi military was either defeated on the battlefield or surrendered and US troops pulled Saddam out of a spider hole to drag him off for trial and execution, I'd call that a bad analogy.
