The first real world sighting of an Online Anarchist.

Less "corporate punk" more "Jeff Bezos is forcing us to install anti-homeless spikes on our clothing"

[–] culpritus@hexbear.net 39 points 1 week ago

no free loader is going to use my shoulders for themselves, anyway back to creating proprietary SaaS products from libre projects

[–] SacredExcrement@hexbear.net 75 points 1 week ago

Nothing says 'punk' like an Amazon logo unironically embroidered onto your jacket

[–] Cowbee@hexbear.net 70 points 1 week ago

Even ignoring the incompatability of corpo-punk this is still an atrocious fit

This is what I mean when I say punk is only an aesthetic

[–] PolarKraken@lemmy.dbzer0.com 35 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (2 children)

Nah, punk is an ethos, it never died, and the "punk" aesthetic has little to do with punk. For example Ms Rachel is punk as fuck, whereas this clown is just corporate.

But we're saying the same thing I bet.

punk is an ethos

There are still people trying to do things independently, just nobody sees it because we're not posting on TikTok and Instagram.

I work as a technician in an independent venue, lots of manual labour, doing twelve hour shifts, and also run a cassette label. I record everything myself, dub the tapes myself, make and print all the artwork myself, ship it all internationally on my own. I've organised unions and gone on strike at venues, won tribunals against employers.

I will agree though that a lot of libs exploit the good will of DIY community in bad faith.

Ah yes, raging against one’s own machine. Next you be stealing copper from the DC guys just to get your cube mates a Keurig.

Also, why is his beard packed with chow mein from Panda Express?

I'm into punk bands like "Amazon Hourly Worker Stuck In The Wage Cage", you probably don't know of them.

:corporate-punk: has legs. It'd make a nice insult emoji for radlibs and tech goobers.

[–] ShimmeringKoi@hexbear.net 22 points 1 week ago

I'm usually a "wear whatever you want at any age" person, but the letterman jacket is one of those articles that has an expiration date

[–] mrfugu@hexbear.net 22 points 1 week ago (1 children)

[–] ratboy@hexbear.net 28 points 1 week ago

Also why the ass pic there's nothing goin on back there

[–] GalaxyBrain@hexbear.net 21 points 1 week ago (7 children)

It's bad folks. Even minus the Amazon logos, who spikes a letterman jacket? And what is in his beard?

[–] BelieveRevolt@hexbear.net 17 points 1 week ago (1 children)

He asked AI to design a punk outfit.

I'm only half joking and there's a really high chance he actually did.

Holding the phone like a senior citizen isn't helping

[–] JohnBrownsBussy2@hexbear.net 17 points 1 week ago

Bad fit. Idk what makes this corpo-punk other than the fucking logos. When I think corpo-punk or business goth, I'm imaging a distressed or modded suit/tie thing, not a varsity jacket.

[–] TraschcanOfIdeology@hexbear.net 14 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

I'm willing to bet my christmas budget this dude didn't do more than 20 minutes of manual labor to get this fit together. He either paid someone else, or bought it all pre-made.
