Those aren't mutally exclusive properties, she's both. She was adopted from her birth place of Sri Lanka by Swiss parents, but the adoption aspect doesn't negate that she physically migrated from Sri Lanka to Switzerland and is thus also a migrant
I can share that logic, but I had this discussion with someone else that convinced me of the opposite. The rationale is that in most places adoption doesn't have the same legal status as migration, plus the overal experience, difficulties, privileges or lack thereof, are very different in either case. She may or may not consider herself a migrant, so a more neutral wording like "a wife from Sri Lanka" would be more appropriate.
Yes different nations all have their own pedantic legalese on what constitutes a 'migrant' but if someone physically moves from one country to another long-term they are objectively a migrant
