So, you're not federated to them atm?
I'd say we shouldn't be afraid of discussing political topics in .world, but a few outliers being too disruptive could result in defederation. So the "patiently explain ourselves" part seems like the really important thing to me here. Also, if at some point there actually is much more political debate in their communities, I'd suggest engaging with mods in good faith and to a reasonable extent with the intention of keeping the space civil.
Once I needed a small plastic piece printed for a study and a neurosurgeon suggested sending it to the bone printing department. They're really capable and can make things like models for understanding how a patient's anatomy would impact surgery, etc. Obviously overkill for my project though, I just ordered it from Wenext.
From the very large proportion of "UX Researchers" and "UX Content" laid off in the picture, I'd suppose it's a satirical UI mockup made by a UX researcher. No idea if that's the case though.
No side wants to give you affordable healthcare and housing. If they say they want to do it, but then do absolutely nothing in that general direction, they don't want to do it.
Yeah when your country is bombed and deprived of food for months you just need to quickly un-bear all of your children and problem solved!
Seriously though, some people really think they can find an explanation to make everyone deserve their problems. As if the physical world literally didn't exist and those problems had no correlation outside the individual's soul or whatever.
Uh... Doesn't that article spell "liberal"?
Potato and tomato were native to the American continent.
Palestine has attacked territory that was assigned to Palestine by the UN in 1947. The UN also makes it very clear that a country may lawfully recover occupied territory "by any means, including armed force". UN laws are thus very clear: Ukraine and Palestine can recover territories by force. Now, that doesn't mean you should support them in their struggle to do so, but if you don't, it must be for some other reason (e.g., Israel taking over would constitute a huge strategic gain for the US, while Russia taking over would destabilize the world and thus benefit small or weakly aligned players).
I feel bad for them, they probably meant well there... I see how hyperfixated some people get with laws. Like, what do "equal rights" even provide, if you don't get "equal conditions" in general? And how much power people actually have in your country if you have literally no practical way to get those things OP mentions? If your laws say pretty things but they are deliberately set up to not actually have any effect in practice and everybody is silent about that, then you definitely live in 1984 incarnate.
I guess we could make one using newer FHE-RAM techniques and some edge case handling.
