Recently watched some Dungeon Meshi with a friend and she remarked on how much she digs that they use "tallmen" instead of "humans" to not create an implicit linguistic division between the humans and the fantasy races. I think she really has a point there, something is fishy about how we center ourselves as the default in universes that have all kinds of different sapient species.

If you're an access journalist, the only way you ask a sitting prime minister of a Western ally "hard questions" is as a setup for him to deflect and downplay criticism. If you would want to actually corner him on this, you would have to build an entire career around not doing that with anybody ever until you come off as harmless enough to get accredited to the press conference, then you'd have one shot at going off script and pressing him on clarification of the obvious, then you'd spend the rest of your career trying to monetize your substack because no network would ever employ you again.
I haven't read the entire article bc it would end with me getting a brain aneurism, but every time one of these lanyard caitiffs admits that liberal and socdem parties have stopped caring about economic policies that benefit the working class, their solution is inevitably "HOWEVER, instead of actually adressing this, we should throw queers and brown people under the bus"
That load of drivel peppered with nonsense like "custom-generated sets of stuff" is such a good example for how relying on AI too much will completely rot your skills
After recently coming out as a furry myself and getting a more in depth look on the community from my furry friends, i can't help but be amazed at how crafty many of these people are, how much creativity i find in that fandom and, ofc, also how much i want fluffy animal ears that automatically align themselves in the direction of noises around me jfc this is so cool that guy is cooking.
Honestly, i fear that a lot of the recent developments signal a reactionary desire to at least move back to the days when autists were forced into masking as much as possible and to actively crush acceptance of neurodivergence. And honestly, it could herald developments that are a lot worse than that. Carcereal psychiatry with forced institutionalizations, electro shocks and lobotomies is very much a part of the era that reactionaries are nostalgic for.

Women with atrocious opinions always get disproportionate attention for their shit takes, and that goes tenfold when we're trans women. I hate that i have to say this when it's about an arrogant liberal who built her career on whining about being cancelled for being a truscum piece of shit, but just look at this thread, people genuinely get more upset about Contra than Destiny, who doesn't get mentioned once in the entire thread outside of the OP.
