That's one thing I do not miss from old phpbb forum culture. Annoying flashing gifs, catchy lines that get old quick. People putting a paragraph of text there so even a simple two word response is huge. Half the people who use them aren't half as clever as they think they are and the other half aren't clever enough to make up for it.

I know her being an owl is part of the joke but still.
The Sachi guy is the case study, for me, that suggests there's a critical mass of cringe (as long as you don't harm anyone) where you can essentially be too big to fail except for memes. The Chika dance guy is another example. Sort of like running for president where no expense is too great because you can print money once you get there.
