Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

I really fucking wish news orgs would stop fucking with the wording of articles like this.

Don't get my hopes up.

[–] SnarkoPolo@lemmy.world 1 points 1 hour ago

Fake News! He's the most high energy dictator ever! Health like no one has ever seen! His MRI was the most bigly, perfect MRI! In fact, many men, many big tough men, SWAT cops and truckers, say to him, they say while literally crying, "Sir, Sir! Please Sir, fall asleep in Cabinet meetings again, to show your manly, macho health!"

[–] xenomor@lemmy.world 18 points 9 hours ago

Fuck dude, will you just drop dead already.

[–] kahnclusions@lemmy.ca 44 points 13 hours ago

He did say he’s anti-woke

[–] PalmTreeIsBestTree@lemmy.world 24 points 12 hours ago

Would be nice if he slumps over on live tv and stays that way forever

[–] SantasMagicalComfort@piefed.world 119 points 17 hours ago (5 children)

One day he's not going to wake up.

[–] stretch2m@infosec.pub 5 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

Torn. I want this, but I also want him to live long enough to fail. Badly. To face some justice for all the evil.

[–] winkerjadams@lemmy.dbzer0.com 6 points 6 hours ago

Justice was taken out back and put down a long time ago

I hope he has a stroke while he's rage Tweeting on the toilet and goes full on Hector Salamanca: knowing everything that's happening but trapped in a (more) useless, vegetating body.

He looked truly terrible a few weeks ago. He seems to be recovering. How are the worst people so long lasting?

[–] Mirshe@lemmy.world 44 points 17 hours ago (1 children)

Money. Access to extremely advanced and intimate healthcare at a moment's notice.

[–] wheezy@lemmy.ml 1 points 7 hours ago

These contribute for sure. But I honestly think that narcissistic people that are wealthy enough just don't have the level of stress throughout life that a normal person does.

Dude acts like a child looking for gratification from mommy and gets it from the "media" that asks him questions.

Less stress throughout an entire lifetime. It makes up for being an overweight old man that would have died decades ago if he ever had to worry about paying rent or had back pain from manual labor.

There was a thread I saw not too long ago where someone brought up a little conspiracy theory I think I may subscribe to

There's a new Alzheimer's treatment, Lecanemab/Leqembi, that was given accelerated approval in the US by the FDA this year in January, so just as trump took office.

It's given by IV every 4 weeks. Trump has been seen with what looks like makeup thats covering up bruising from an IV

It also seems like he has highs and lows where he declines for a couple weeks then perks back up a bit before declining again, and you can maybe kind of match those up to a similar 4-ish week cycle.

And it also calls for regular cognitive tests and MRIs to monitor if it's effective, and, well, trump has been doing that.

[–] postmateDumbass@lemmy.world 8 points 13 hours ago

I just thought with tarriff.boycotts, he had run out of his "European Sudafed"

[–] 7U5K3N@lemmy.dbzer0.com 20 points 15 hours ago

Someone said that he's on a 28 day cycle. Apparently there's a Alzheimer's shot that's a every 4 weeks shot.

So he'll be good for 10-18 days and then start sundowning till they hit him with the next bump.

But then again who knows it's the internet after all.

The worst people seem fuelled by hate alone and survive longer than they have any right to. See: Dick Cheney.

[–] wolframhydroxide@sh.itjust.works 3 points 14 hours ago (2 children)

Can someone learn this power?

[–] InternetCitizen2@lemmy.world 4 points 13 hours ago

Not from a Jedi

[–] meco03211@lemmy.world 1 points 13 hours ago

Easy. Look around at random strangers. Pick out some characteristic. Anything at all that you can reason makes you better than them (the more illogical the better). Now just hate them for it. Even better if it's something they have no control over.

[–] WhyIHateTheInternet@lemmy.world 8 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

Some song once told me only the good die young. So he's here for awhile.

[–] lando55@lemmy.zip 4 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

You misunderstood, the song was telling you that your tie is too wide

[–] WhyIHateTheInternet@lemmy.world 2 points 15 hours ago (1 children)

I'm pretty tall but that went right over me.

[–] AbidanYre@lemmy.world 3 points 15 hours ago (2 children)
[–] LemmyKnowsBest@lemmy.world 3 points 15 hours ago

Oh! You mean they'll tell you you can't sleep with somebody else

but either way, it's okay, you wake up with yourself

??

[–] WhyIHateTheInternet@lemmy.world 1 points 15 hours ago (1 children)

Somebody just sing it already

[–] AbidanYre@lemmy.world 2 points 15 hours ago (1 children)

Only the Good Die Young and It's Still Rock and Roll to Me.

We're all better off with me not singing.

[–] WhyIHateTheInternet@lemmy.world 1 points 15 hours ago

I'm sure you have a lovely voice. So I'm gonna trust you to not ruin my expectations.

[–] InternetCitizen2@lemmy.world 8 points 13 hours ago

Hope I have that day off from work 🍾

[–] Assassassin@lemmy.dbzer0.com 46 points 17 hours ago

Tell me when he doesn't jolt awake. Anything less is a tease.

[–] PhAzE@lemmy.ca 23 points 16 hours ago (1 children)
[–] inb4_FoundTheVegan@lemmy.world 18 points 16 hours ago

And just like the white, privileged, arrogant man that he... falls asleep, only to jolt awake and instantly tries to (wrongly) correct the woman speaking.

Merica'!

[–] seathru@quokk.au 16 points 16 hours ago (2 children)

They fitted him with a insulin pump full of Ritalin didn't they? "Shit, he's falling asleep again. Give him a bump!"

[–] Guitarfun@lemmy.world 2 points 9 hours ago

His heart probably can't handle stimulants anymore. He's switched to benzos to get his high now.

[–] bonaqo@lemmy.zip 10 points 15 hours ago (1 children)

text Potus to send a jolt of electricity keep him awake, i would pay for that

[–] My_IFAKs___gone@lemmy.world 4 points 15 hours ago

Sleep deprivation has been linked to certain death.

[–] TropicalDingdong@lemmy.world 15 points 17 hours ago

Bummer that he woke up.

I'm impressed he was anywhere on point with the actual conversation.
