Dragula by Rob Zombie

[–] RexWrexWrecks@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

My Sacrifice by Creed is right in my range and that loooong "Agaiiiiiiiiiiiiin" sounds impressive while being easy to execute.

Angels by Robbie Williams is probably one of his easier ones.

Have You Ever Seen The Rain? By CCR is also fun and relatively easy to do.

And finally, if nobody else has done it yet, then "Wonderwall" :P

Down With the Sickness. Although, fuck Draimon.

Why to which sentence? The first sentence is questionable in and of itself. But I guess the best answer is, "because I know all the words, and it's fun to make anger noises."

The second sentence could be questioned if someone were out of the loop. It's because the herald of inclusivity literally signed off on a genocide. He's voiced a number of odd opinions with flawed logic, but he preaches peace while signing missiles. And then went on hiatus because his fans think that calling for the end of a genocide is "free speech," while he calls it "antisemitism," and then he got booed for his awful opinion and refusal to value all human life.

It was for the second question. I like a lot of Disturbed's music but don't really follow the news about the band members. Thanks for linking to the news stories. That's disgusting and disappointing.

Doesn’t matter. If I’m doing karaoke I will be so drunk I can’t follow the song or even read words.

I found out theres more words than the chorus in the song “Just a Friend “ while shitfaced drunk in front of the bar.

"Business" - Eminem

Yes, I fucking NAIL it.

Sandstorm - Darude.

Northwest Passage by Stan Rodgers. Love his other stuff too. People are often surprised that I, an immigrant, know something so Canadian.

Lovin' la Vida Loca

In the Philippines: My way by Frank Sinatra

And in all other part of the world?

In all other parts of the world it's not guaranteed to start a riot.

“Bloodbuzz Ohio” -The National.
it’s short, sweet, a little sexy, I can do the voice, and I can remember the lyrics. Also, I live in Ohio. And it reminds me of my best friend, who passed away last year.

Depends on the setting.

Nobody seems into it? Kiss from a rose- seal.

Need to set the bar? The Widow- Mars Volta

Classic crowd? Plush- Stone temple pilots

Easiest for my voice: There's a reason these tables are numbered- Panic at the Disco

People are worried to be embarassed? Brand new key- Melanie

And on the occasion I want to make everyone laugh and impress them: It's all coming back to me- Celine Dion.

I'm a large, traditionally masculine guy. It's a lot more fun to subvert expectations.

Edit: forgot one. If I'm attempting to impress girls: Mon amant de saint-jean- Patrick Bruel

[–] paulzy@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I used to love singing One Armed Scissor on Rock Band but I’ve never had the guts to try ATDI or Mars Volta in public.

I wanna try arcarsenal but i don't think I'd be able to speak afterward

The Distance by Cake. I can't sing so this works every time.

[–] AngryCommieKender@lemmy.world 4 points 2 days ago

I warm up with either Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm by Crash Test Dummies, or Collide by Howie Day. Once I'm warmed up I have a huge repertoire of songs. I don't sing Meatloaf songs back to back anymore though. And Rob Zombie is only for Halloween.

[–] Okokimup@lemmy.world 4 points 2 days ago

My go-to artist is Chappel Roan.

[–] artifex@piefed.social 19 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Tequila.

I don’t like singing in public.

Say It Ain't So - Weezer
Don't Let Me Down - The Beatles
Are You Gonna Be My Girl - Jet
Living on a Prayer - Bon Jovi
Sometimes You Can't Make It on Your Own/Beautiful Day/Sunday Bloody Sunday - U2
Patio Lanterns - Kim Mitchell
Every Sperm is Sacred - Monty Python
Mama Tried - Merle Haggard
Anything from Marty Robbins' Gunfighter Ballads and Trail Songs when I can get away with it.
You Oughta Know - Alanis Morrisette (and it's a mistake every time)

Big on my maybe list:
Earache My Eye - Cheech and Chong. Aka as a straight cis guy, the only thing that would get me to perform in drag (preferably good drag, with help from people who know what they're doing)

Puppy Love/Put Your Head on My Shoulder - Paul Anka (been on a Paul Anka kick recently, and one of the karaoke spots I like is really close to where the restaurant his parents ran eons ago was)

I'm a Gun - Lorne Green (similar reasons as Paul Anka)

Poor Unfortunate Souls from the Little Mermaid. Pat Carroll's key is perfect for dudes and this song is great to ham up. I also go with Let's Dance by David Bowie and Rock Lobster by the B52s when my wife is there to duet

We don't have to dance - Andy Black

Lesser known song, but right in my range. It has an ironic message as long as you're clearly having a good time at the function.

Teenage Dirtbag - Wheatus

Fake Blood - Heart Attack Man

Lithonia - Childish Gambino

Don't do karaoke often, but I've done Mexican Radio by Wall of Voodoo more than once.

Next time I might try Das Model by Kraftwerk, or I wanna be your dog by Iggy Pop. My singing voice is not great, but I might pull that off.

[–] LemmyKnowsBest@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

Mexican Radio by Wall of Voodoo

Ah when I was a child I labeled my mixtape Wallavoodoo 😆 because I'd only heard it spoken, never saw it written

[–] cerebralhawks@lemmy.dbzer0.com 9 points 2 days ago (7 children)

Never been to "actual" karaoke. However, I played Rockband games for about ten years, off and on. That's karaoke with a score system. And you can also play guitar or drums, but I suck at that? Singing though? That, I can do.

The Final Countdown (Europe). This one's so fun to sing. It feels like it goes to some 80s movie, but I don't recall one that features it.

What's My Age Again? (blink-182). I went into these games not caring for pop punk and emo, but hands down, they're the most fun to sing by far!

Headphones On (Miranda Cosgrove/iCarly). See above, but pop rock. According to You (Orianthi) is even more fun to sing, but unless the guitarist is warmed up, he'll have it in for you for the rest of the night if you pick this one early! Headphones On is a great warmup though.

Enter Sandman (Metallica). This one's upper mid tier for everyone, but everyone loves to play it. Easily the most fun Metallica song to sing. The Black Album was basically their pop record. It's a legit hard rock/radio metal album (and, not for nothing, but Nothing Else Matters was highly rated by Sir Elton John of all people) but it's a pop record. It was engineered to go viral and it did. And most of the songs are a blast to sing.

I wish Rockband was still around so we'd get the KPop Demon Hunter songs. I'd sing the shit outta What it Sounds Like or How it's Done. I wouldn't object to any song from that soundtrack being picked. You can fake it through the few Korean lines (and hope they're written out phonetically rather than the symbols). I stood and sang for all the songs in the Sing-Along version in theaters (twice!) and I feel like though I said the Korean words as written, they didn't come out right.
