i mean if they wanna ban genital mutilation for the dumbest reason in the world i'll take it.

[–] TankieTanuki@hexbear.net 23 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Actually, we must reflexively defend baby torture until we have zero doubts about the purity of motivation of those who attempt to end it

[–] Kefla@hexbear.net 16 points 3 weeks ago

If we didn't mutilate them, I would find their genitals visually unappealing. Obviously we can't stop.

[–] itsgroundhogdayagain@lemmy.ml 57 points 3 weeks ago

Trump has studied children's privates for a long time.

"Babies to no longer be given painkillers after being mutilated" is about to be a real headline

[–] ClathrateG@hexbear.net 29 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago) (2 children)

Do they generally give the infant's any sort of painkiller before/after the genital mutilation in the west?

[–] Parzivus@hexbear.net 21 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Not sure actually, I don't think it's super common for infants to be given painkillers at all? Tylenol is supposed to be mild enough to be given to babies in small doses, though.

[–] ClathrateG@hexbear.net 15 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Perhaps not, but you'd atleast think they'd give them a non-CNS depressing anaesthetic during the 'procedure', do they do it while they're fully conscious?

[–] RION@hexbear.net 33 points 3 weeks ago

nowadays it's typically a local anesthetic like cream or nerve block, but some still just give sugar water as a distraction. Of course for a long time doctors believed babies straight up couldn't feel pain and that anesthesia wasn't necessary. Even today people just say "oh they're too young to remember" which is... not how trauma works

Circumcision [c. 1997] is often performed on infants without anesthetic^[https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/moral-landscapes/201501/circumcisions-psychological-damage]

Still remember during the Covid pandemic, Trump was at the podium and he started talking about injecting disinfectant into your body to kill the virus. The head doctor seated on the side had a look on her face like "wtf?" lol

[–] plinky@hexbear.net 32 points 3 weeks ago

project2025 page 304:

get a head doctor who won't look "wtf" at you ✍

Seriously trying to figure out how "tylenol, vaccines, and artificial food dyes are causing autism and should be banned" can coexist with "you should take horse dewormer to cure covid and can mainline chlorox if you want"

[–] WildWeezing420@hexbear.net 23 points 3 weeks ago

they're just snake oil salesmen in the old timey sense. The cure-all magic medicine is the one they are selling, everything else is fake

[–] InevitableSwing@hexbear.net 17 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

My favorite thing about the inject bleach into the body stuff was that within hours Scott Adams put out a short tweet thread that was an attempt to explain what his hero Trump meant even though it was clear Trump was simply an abject idiot and fool talking out of his ass trying to sound smart.

---

Ninja edit

Way back in May - Adams said he had months to live due to prostate cancer. He went on to say he took the horse paste but it didn't work and was in great pain and blah bah blah. I checked his Wikipedia page and now he says he might live for years.

On May 19, 2025, Adams revealed on his daily podcast Real Coffee with Scott Adams that he has prostate cancer that has spread to his bones, and that he only has a short time left to live. He has stated that the cancer has spread to his spine which has caused him to use a walker due to the immense pain. He noted that taking ivermectin and fenbendazole to treat the cancer did not work for him.

In June 2025, he revealed he had made an appointment about physician assisted suicide through the California End of Life Option Act, and was going to go through with it on June 29 or June 30, after his stepdaughter's wedding, as the pain was too much to handle.

He then discovered that by taking common testosterone blocker pills his pain unexpectedly went away, and his PSA levels dropped with 90%, which would give him weeks, months or even some years extra.

which would give him weeks, months or even some years extra.

Can they just end the default practice of genital mutilation and not get silly with it?

Still struggling to understand what the bourgeois gets out of destroying public health.

[–] fox@hexbear.net 31 points 3 weeks ago

They want to destroy public health by redirecting spending from medical stuff to supplements and deregulated "medical" devices so their friends get rich off the grift.

[–] MrPiss@hexbear.net 24 points 3 weeks ago

We're a surplus population that isn't needed combined with a consumer market. If the capitalists needed Americans to be a healthy and productive workforce then we would have cheaper healthcare. Like fundamentally they don't care about us and all of neoliberalism is just looting society at large because it doesn't matter. To people like Thatcher society didn't even really exist.

[–] LangleyDominos@hexbear.net 22 points 3 weeks ago

Individualizing the lack of common good by blaming bad health outcomes on individual choices, cheaper taxes, more opportunities for private healthcare solutions, less regulation for polluters that cause environmental health risks, and a group of human cattle that are desperate to sell their organs, wombs, and fluids to the wealthy at bargain prices.

[–] Euergetes@hexbear.net 14 points 3 weeks ago

what does destroying public health do?

it kills poor people. why they want to do that varies by the monster

[–] ComradeRat@hexbear.net 13 points 3 weeks ago

Public health will crumble as the empire crumbles regardless. Imo this is about priming part of the population to see no medicine as a good thing instead of revolting

[–] SorosFootSoldier@hexbear.net 32 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

They're really running with this aren't they? What am I supposed to give my kid who's in pain, fucking percocets?

[–] Edie@hexbear.net 30 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Alcohol. Like in the good old days

Why don't they just genetically modify babies so they don't develop a foreskin to begin with, this is 2025 why has science not caught up

[–] CommCat@hexbear.net 32 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago) (7 children)

Just leave the foreskin alone, circumcision is medically unnecessary.

trump studied foreskin 101?

[–] Lussy@hexbear.net 14 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago)

I’m a world renown expert in foreskins, I was Donald’s phd advisor. He had a lot of potential

[–] BountifulEggnog@hexbear.net 22 points 3 weeks ago

Children who are circumcised early have double the rate of autism

Holy hell, is he going to be based for all the wrong reasons??

it's highly likely because they're given tylenol

fuck sake

[–] AvocadoVapelung@hexbear.net 22 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago) (2 children)

time for the libs to reflexively double down on circumcision as an "own" doomjak

At this point I'm just glad he didn't claim it was some sort of foreskin magic doomjak

[–] chgxvjh@hexbear.net 18 points 3 weeks ago

Always thought RFK must have opinions on circumcisions and was wondering how this will play out. Obviously in dumbest possible way.
