I think users can hide/block comms/posts they don't like.

If even blajah can't tolerate them they have no business being federated with us

It’s called TERF Island for a reason. Make them paddle if they want to leave
too much extra work just to keep around a few users who might be able to hang with us. if the instance allows transphobia, that's just more transphobia for us to potentially see an clean up ourselves, with no real way of addressing the root cause of it if it does end up becoming a problem. save yourselves the headache and ban it

I think maintaining the ability for people here to agitate there is important.
down for whatever, but i'd also like to forward a relentless bullying campaign as an option until we do whatever it is we do
for funsies
I am not a member of any marginalized group but i want to defederate from as many instances as possible.

ukkk just because I almost never see a good take from feddit.uk users anyway. The good ones can or should just join Hexbear anyway, or Lemmygrad if they want more federation
is better bait
banning the db0 admins was funny
Even though blahaj is lame, they were right to do this.
Also campaign to refederate with blahaj.
Assuming we defederate, how long will we have between the decision and the defederation itself? Because once we defederate, post edits and deletions won't federate; changes to profile picture, display name, or bio won't federate; and account deletions won't federate, right? Will we ask the Feddit.uk mods to purge Hexbear profiles or?
We will ask them to purge feddit.uk. No half measures.

I'd rather err on the side of my trans homies bein safe.
Caedite eos. Novit enim Dominus qui sunt eius!
I actually wanted to title my post "We need to defederate from Feddit." But I was a little baby coward and felt bad.

zero tolerance for fedditor freaks

they can suck me

Deeper Thoughts
I, personally, prefer
, because I think opportunities to educate are good and, when they fail, bullying is fun. And, the less of the fediverse we connect with, the more bigotry is allowed to fester.
But,
is probably the healthy direction for our corner of the fediverse. I want my comrades to feel safe and supported. I think that "we gotta consider how to interpret blatant government transphobia" is a disgusting response from the mods, and that attitude is rapidly gonna turn feddit into another nazi bar. While we can engage and oppose bigots, we cannot change another site's culture when it's being poisoned from the top. The dbzero move was funny, and correct, because that instance has an anarchist tendency, and their userbase's interests overlap with the hexbear mission. A site with an identity based on geographic happenstance does not share that overlap.
spoiler Deeper spicy problematic thoughts
Honestly, props to
. I kinda want to refederate with them; give us a fresh batch of libs to spar with, encourage them to chase the chasers out, show their trans and anarchist users what real (as in honest, not as in world) solidarity can look and feel like. They like giving tankies shit, we like giving libs shit; but I think given the political realities of the world today it might be time for a slightly bigger tent.

Seeing as the feddit moderation team's policies clearly do not along with our own stances
lmao spelling mistake

It’s clear they’ve made their choice on where they stand. The time and need for a multipolar Lemmy has long since arrived.

The Supreme Court decision, as I understand it, shouldn't even effect the instance — it is a law which states that trans women are not legally considered women, such that the law doesn't mandate discrimination but allows it. Given the funders of this campaign of hate, it's pretty clear this is meant to target women's toilets and changing rooms and to "confuse" "well-meaning" managers in to banning transgender women from women's toilets and changing rooms "in the name of the law".
This would be an easy choice if I was making it.

There is something wrong with average angloids at UK both real life and online that are loud with respect to their transphobia when even comparing to north america from what I noticed.

once again i am asking moderators to allow weighing in without requiring users to use site emojis. Jerbora does not support emojis and I am therefore unable to participate
I don't think I've ever interacted with anyone from fedddit. What communities do they have?
the "Buy European" comm seems to pop up a lot. Not that its anything good, just that if you browse All>Hot its there a lot
