Lemmy.ml apparently. When you type B...I...T...C...H it automatically turns to removed. They're treating you like some kid who can't handle grown-up words. Switch to another instance if you want more freedom with your choice of words.
Lemmy.ml banned me on my Startrek.website account years ago during the height of my posting. Like when I was posting 20 things every hour or two. Why? Posted some Jimmy Neutron meme about Disney having a first gay character and it being the 14th one this month. Title was like "Can always be the first in China at least for a couple minutes" or something along those lines.
From what I heard from some of the people who worked on .ml behind the scenes, they had to reverse the ban because a bunch of people started asking why there was no new content and other people started to realize it was because I had gotten banned.
Have never posted on lemmy.ml since and don't bother to interact with the instance at all. I don't have it blocked because not all users are like the admins but like fuck am I ever adding to that shithole ever again. I thought that was the worst I'd ever deal with from admins... and then I started getting personally harassed by the startrek.website admins across multiple websites and basically forgot about lemmy.ml entirely.
But, isn't it wonderful that we can have a fediverse where there can be annoying instances like those ones, but if you don't like it you can just move or block?
The fediverse is chaotic but I sure prefer chaos to having one corporate overlord with one point of view, and one goal, which is getting ads in front of as many eyeballs as possible.
Blocking an instance only blocks you from seeing communities there, it doesn't block you from seeing users posting in other communities.

Yeah I pretty much know that, and consider the lack of a karma score a feature not a bug of Lemmy. It's just the obvious joke to crack on the subject of a social credit score on the fediverse.

Not all of us. I just read what it said on the main page "A community of privacy and FOSS enthusiasts, run by Lemmy’s developers" and thought that sounded good. I'm sure a lot of people that were new to lemmy figured the instance run by the devs themselves would be a safe bet. There also wasn't nearly as much drama around .ml back then, but it honestly hasn't been enough of an issue to make me create an account on a new instance and switch.

Anywhere but lemmygrad or hexbear, really. lemmy.dbzer0.com, ~~lemmy.world~~ (EDIT: ngl, I forgor there are multiple issues with this one. We should also be pushing folks to smaller instances anyways, because mega-servers are a threat to the fediverse.), lemmy.zip, or lemmy.blahaj.zone are all good ones. I'm quite partial to kbin.earth (although you'd need a different app), and there's also piefed instances.
Dbzer0 is pretty solid. Never had any issues with the admins, they post pro piracy shit, and they even ask for your input before implementing rule changes. It's pretty comfortable and meets my values well enough.
Literally anywhere that isn't lemmygrad or hexbear will usually be better. You could go to an instance with open sign up until you find somewhere else, but they tend to house a lot of closeted reactionaries, I assume because those people like the anonymity. Personally I just looked up instances to see which ones I liked. They'll have a description of who they are and if sign ups require an application you just say why you want to join their instance. It's not a huge deal really.
Might want to consider piefed instances as well, it's a fediverse front-end not developed by the weaklings that decided to censor your innocuous words.

Literally any non-ml instance would be a way better choice. Also avoid hexbear. The rest are pretty solid. I'm happy with speed of Lemmus.org, but lemmy.world worked fine for me too.
My 2 cents is lemmy.zip. it's the most like the lost treasure that was lemm.ee. it leaves a lot of censoring up to the user
I’m a refugee from lemm.ee and I’ve been enjoying piefed.zip and the .zip lemmy instance
Chose this one since I’ve heard (and from what I’ve seen) that like lemm.ee, the .zip instances only block the REALLY problematic stuff NSFL and illegal content, leaving it to the user to fill their own block lists rather than defederating
Edit, also used an mbin instance, I never really liked the microblog side of the fediverse (just not my thing) and wanted to continue to use voyager app
sh.itjust.works is awesome. The admins are cool as shit, and as you can tell from the name, there's no BS censorship.
