Private schools should be illegal, but barring that giving them state funds is just a roundabout way to kill public education. The right wing's war on public education is truly something to behold. They have made tremendous strides and yet we hear nothing about it outside of educator's circles and the odd news article like this one.

In Texas they either now allow or are going to allow private schools to take public funds. I don’t see how public education can even survive that.

I’ve only interacted with FWISD so I haven’t really seen it first had yet but I mean it’s the most blatant attack on the individual I’ve ever seen in my life I think. Historically, communist revolutions have occurred in countries with extremely low literacy rates. Once education becomes something only the bourgeoisie have access too, and is no longer being used as a means of pacifying the working class, the proletariat can "feel out" the contradictions in the system much more clearly, even if they would lack the means of articulating it all fully.
