Look at this monstrosity New Zealand pumped out during World War II. Built in case of Japanese invasion, the tank was made by slapping corrugated iron on a tractor and calling it a day. The Japanese tanks were hardly great, but a Ha-Go is infinitely better than this. Nonetheless, I love it for its shittiness.

Came out to my mom. Tl;dr it went well.

Holy shit that was so scary. Even though I had good reason to think it be would fine it was so scary and I felt all the self confidence I'd built up over the last few days evaporate. Still glad I did it though, no regrets. She loves me and she supports me, and she's also very worried for my safety because amerikkka and because we live with my other parent who is very abusive. She was completely caught off guard and thought I might have been gay which I am now so I'll take it. She's also worried about how the heck I'm going to afford any of this because amerikkka and because I've spent most of my life as an unemployed girl failure. I don't even want to consider getting a j*b before being a good amount into transitioning. If I'm honest with myself, it miiiiiight be the tiniest bit bearable sometime after that, but don't tell anyone because I don't want to seem employable. I have some savings to get started, but that won't last forever. Why does this all have to cost money?

Genuinely heartbreaking to see trans women get underdosed

Just saw a thread with someone complaining of basically no changes after 2 years. After a few people talked she had no idea what her levels were and was on 50mg spiro and 2mg pills. So sad and cruel. The wasted time, how long she felt defeated for... just everything.

My mom pulled me aside and asked what was wrong. That she could tell very deeply something was bothering me (I feel like shit today, bitter, upset, whatever whole thing. Same fucking things as always).

Well mom. You had to marry a fuckhead Maga bigot so I have to suffer in silence.

The fact people are so intellectually bankrupt they can't interpret this graph makes me hate them. Everyone who thinks autism is in this super scary new thing, or that lgbt people are this new thing, this deviation of culture, whatever can all be put in a pit and buried I am so sick of the precious earth being taken up by these wastes of oxygen. If you can't use your fucking head you shouldn't be here

Scared the shit out of my gf today.

I came back from my ophthalmologist appointment because the stye inside my eyelid turned into a benign tumor, and immediately told her "Hey! My stye is gone... because it turned into a tumor. I probably have to go to the hospital for that."

I only had 3 hours of sleep and hadn't taken my ADHD meds yet, so I totally forgot to say that it's benign. While I was getting the referral out to look up the exact name of this tumor, she completely freaked out for a moment before I could fix my mistake.

Whoops kobeni-sweat

I hate how much patience you "have" to have with your family and parents. How you're "supposed" to work with them, and give them grace, and let them work through all their own stuff about it. Like that's so much work. For them to hopefully, in the future be okay about it.

One of the biggest reasons I haven't told them yet

Got to hold a large boa constrictor (imperator) tonight, very nice way to spend an evening. Incredible how powerful he was. Made my hands sore just holding him. Lovely animal. Very soft as well. I love him and want one.

Also got to hold some juveniles (baby dumeril's boas, and true red tails). And very soft and lovely. Also got to hold a gargoyle gecko which was a very fun experience, I liked him more than I expected.

Cw: wall of text, dysphoria, mentions of substance use, depression

Tap for spoilerSo… I’m older (42) and after spending a bunch of my life as a mediocre male I have managed to finally admit to myself I’m trans.

I should have put it together earlier or seen that something else was possible for me years ago, but I’ve been so repressed due to the time and place I grew up in. I can trace back to my youth times where I enjoyed dressing in femme clothes in private and was close friends with girls as a young child.

Those feelings would come and go over the years and I convinced myself that I was just a man who was less masc than a lot of guys and tried to just live with my head down. I have spent much of my time with my head elsewhere, in books, in games, in TV, inside drawings or music. I had grown up in an environment where anything slightly in that direction was “gay” and being gay was basically the worst thing you could be. I still liked girls so I thought I was just a little funny somehow and it wasn’t worth thinking about for fear of anything else.

I spent the next couple decades living a relatively “normal” life, going to uni, partying a lot,  developing a career (somehow) even having a couple long term relationships which ultimately flamed out due to my own unhappiness. There were some good moments in those years but if there was any recurring theme, I was dissatisfied with myself and felt inadequate, like something was always missing.

It wasn’t until a couple years pre-covid in my mid 30s that I started to experiment with presenting myself differently in public(still cis though no big deal), wearing makeup and slightly more femme clothes, painting nails etc. At this point I had only existed as a cishet dude and was just starting to consider other possibilities figuring…I didn’t know what I was. I still didn’t know anyone who was trans and didn’t understand that that was something that could apply to me… I was just giving myself some room to express myself. I started to feel actually kind of good about where I was at and finally started to fix some things about myself, like exercising and going to a doctor for the first time in forever. Unfortunately that wouldn’t last very long.

Covid hit like a ton of bricks and sent me into a hole of isolation, depression and drinking…I’ve thankfully been able to remain employed at a good job but i’ve spent the last few years doing a lot of dissociating and not caring for myself well.

I’m on the other side of that now...but after some damage was done. I’m making better efforts to be healthy again but it’s hard. I still drink frequently. I spent a lot of my life as a twinkish looking person with fun hair and clothes, attempts to embrace my masculinity to a greater degree over the years have left me feeling like I’m wearing a mask that doesn’t feel right, or like I can’t live up to it in some way. Now navigating what aging as a man is doing to me, having to see that in the mirror is making me hate myself.

Things have not been great so I’m being medicated for depression now. I’ve been going to therapy (first time for everything) and it didn’t take too long after that began for me to finally admit that this internal conflict is meaningful and isn’t something to be ignored. I cried my eyes out on my way to therapy after looking at old pictures of myself in makeup. I outed myself as trans to my therapist that day.

I feel like if I transition now I’ll be kind of busted looking, and it’ll be a shock to people who have known me for years but I don’t think I’ll be happy with myself if I don’t try. I’m scared and at the same time I feel foolish and like I was robbed of a bunch of years and I wish things could have been different. So… here I am.

Still not totally sure what I am, NB/femme feels like the right direction. I had my first laser appointment today...shit hurts. I think I want to do HRT but it might take me some time to access that. I still will have a lot to work on otherwise like voice and behaviour things…and some of that maybe I don’t want to change. Maybe I will be forever clockable and somewhere in between. I worry about being accepted as someone who’s transfem and still attracted to women, although maybe I could be pan, idk how things will feel later. At this point I guess I feel that’s a better place for me to be than where I’ve been at, even if it seems weird to other people.

If there’s anything good for y’all to take out of this… for all of you that know who you are: that’s a good thing whatever you decide. Don’t be me and ignore what’s inside of you. Thank you for reading and for being here.

In the context of my parent's comments know that about GAC making me happy, it is very revealing how they keep having anxiety about me going no contact. They don't hide this.

My mom is literally right now yapping on the phone in front of me discussing with her friend how she thinks I'll go elope and marry without telling them.

Like, she's completely correct. She isn't ignorant about anything. She's literally choosing this outcome with full awareness. They even planned their retirement under the assumption that I won't support them, which is very unusual for my family.

Ball I guess

Every time I'm at a family gathering, I realize that every single member of my family has independently diagnosed me with autism. They have all arrived at this conclusion on their own, all converging on one possibility. I'm like the carcinisation of autism

I saw a video on YouTube that was something like "things I wish I knew at 40 that I now know at 60" and the guy started going on about how he wishes he realized time was more valuable than money. All I can think about now is how bad I wish I was that dumb. I had that figured at like 6 years old and have been developing far more advanced forms of existential dread ever since. I long to be so fucking simple that my most distressing realization was something you see on a calendar.

The discourse for Ralsei is very similar to Jax before the reveal. Arguments of "I literrally don't know anything about the trans experience" calling it a head canon and such.

Executive disfunction is in overdrive so I'm here instead of doing Grad School because I want to be reading Mage: The Ascension but I need to do grad school, at least I've already done two loads of laundry and dishes...to avoid grad school.

Edit: Writing this, I've realized I've made my house very noisy during the only quiet time of the day when no one is here with the sounds of the dish washer, washing machine, and dryer. FML. Why can't my brain just do what it needs to do papyrus-stomp

I haven't shaved my body in so long (it's improved quite a lot if the last year) but I finally shaved and fuck I love feeling all smooth and nice. I had forgotten and told myself I was basically cis women's body hair so it didn't matter but I feel so nice right now. I think the better I can get with my head hair the easier managing body hair will be.
