my old plan of making thousands of pepe accounts and only tweeting single names is coming to fruition

[–] UmbraVivi@hexbear.net 56 points 6 days ago (5 children)

Only one step left before our 3-year-conspiracy is set into motion: The clues. Henry, go make a twitter account and tweet our guy's name. Nothing else. Don't wanna give away too much, but just enough that conspiratorially-minded folks can put some pieces together. It is absolutely vital to our plans that you do this.

Obsessing over this is going to ruin several people's lives, I can feel it.

[–] happybadger@hexbear.net 25 points 6 days ago (3 children)

It's certainly weirder than I can explain away. I'm really curious about this shooter, especially since he seemed to be a well-adjusted computer scientist and teacher: https://www.latimes.com/california/story/2026-04-25/suspect-california-trump-white-house-dinner

The scene at the annual event in Washington turned chaotic when a man dashed toward the dining area and was met with gunfire. One hotel security guard said she observed the individual with a firearm.

So did he actually have a gun or fire any shots? Because that sounds like security just started lighting someone up.

One officer who was wearing a bulletproof vest was shot and was taken to a hospital.

Probably friendly fire.

Authorities said he had a shotgun, a handgun and multiple knives.

He allegedly had a fucking shotgun, a large weapon notoriously bad against bullet proof vests, in the middle of a city, which he managed to walk to a hotel with, enter the hotel, and not raise suspicion until he was going through security? Also "multiple knives"? What the fuck would you need a knife for if you have two guns, let alone multiple knives?

The story is so fucking weird, especially since we know every official source has to be lying about all or most of it. Like someone going with a long arm to shoot up a place full of armed security in body armor, something they know they're gonna die doing, doesn't go ahead and splurge on even a rifle? He opts not to sneak in and instead charges security, without actually shooting until after he's fired upon first (if he returned fire at all), but he brought the worst possible option for going up against armored security?

What do you want to bet it's a cop shotgun one of them grabbed from their trunk, one of the knives is a swiss army knife and the other is a piece of cutlery from the hotel that someone dropped nearby, and he maybe had a handgun at the most if he was armed at all? If this even happened remotely like what they're saying at all, and it's not just a big "whoopsy security opened up on a random guy who just happened to be there, better fabricate a justification for appearances sake".

It could be the guy just ran through security because he was late for something and got annihilated and all the weapons were planted after the fact as a cover up.

But I think its more likely the dumbest assassination attempt on Trump so far. Its not like the past attempts were well thought out.

[–] architect@thelemmy.club 5 points 5 days ago (1 children)

No there was definitely worse ones. Like getting shot entirely outside of mar a lago when Trump isn’t even there is worse.

well-adjusted computer scientist

i do not believe such a thing exists

[–] happybadger@hexbear.net 7 points 5 days ago* (last edited 5 days ago)

That's not to put computer scientists on a pedestal or anything. I'm just saying that I'm not stable enough to complete a really technical masters at such a competitive university but I am stable enough to recognise this plot wouldn't work. There's some kind of disconnect there which I haven't yet seen linked to any kind of ideological motivation. Ted Kaczynski was a proper mathematician and he also ended up chasing crude adventurism, but only after being an MK Ultra victim. His really logical (in that technical non-ideological sense) brain was shaped into doing something illogical, like Naruto-charging a full security team is. This is uniquely the dumbest assassination attempt against Trump and look at his competition.

[–] theturtlemoves@hexbear.net 14 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Imagine how many twitter users there are, and how many shootings there are in the USA.

[–] SeizeTheBeans@hexbear.net 9 points 5 days ago* (last edited 5 days ago) (2 children)

Yeah but how many Twitter users are there that do absolutely nothing but post a single name. If there are lots of those, then ok, this isn't all that weird of a coincidence, not worth putting much more thought into. But if accounts that are created and do nothing but make a single post with a single name are rare, then that does mean this is pretty out there, and would put me firmly on happybadger's side that it's weird and not easily explained by pure chance.

[–] WokePalpatine@hexbear.net 9 points 5 days ago

Only things I could think would be it's possible the account had thousands of posts with different names and deleted all the ones that didn't match (not sure if anyone's verified this its only post ever). It's possible this is done across thousands of accounts with one post of a name combination.

Or could spooked up, but I wonder why this attempt and none of the other ones. Unless the guy himself did it for some reason.

There are literally a quadrillion chatgpt bots on twitter at this point

[–] Moss@hexbear.net 51 points 6 days ago (3 children)

This is what Deltarune fans lose their minds over. They found tweets from like 2012 with cryptic phrases related to the story, like "lost girl" and "1225". It's just random coincidence, unless there's any proven connections it doesn't mean anything

[–] moss_icon@hexbear.net 15 points 5 days ago

They could have also, for whatever reason, been some account that listed random names and decided to delete all their posts except the one where they generated this very generic name that was the same as the shooter for attention. This was the explanation for Beyoncefan666 and that YouTube account that predicted a whole bunch of deaths in 2020. It’s really easy to do stuff like that online to freak people out.

People seem to forget coincidences exist

"Black knight swoon" is just so crazy as a cpincidence though

[–] CthulhusIntern@hexbear.net 36 points 5 days ago (3 children)

I don't believe this is a false flag for the simple fact that if it were, we'd be seeing $500,000 bets on Kalshi that there would be an assassination attempt on Trump.

[–] RedWizard@hexbear.net 13 points 5 days ago

I feel like the prediction market goons love that you think this.

[–] happybadger@hexbear.net 6 points 5 days ago

So far I've at least seen a polymarket bet on whether or not Trump would speak at the event, with the odds going down after the assassination attempt. Everything is casino.

[–] CommieKhinkali@lemmygrad.ml 15 points 5 days ago (1 children)

How did they even find that account lol

[–] TankieTanuki@hexbear.net 19 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Type "Cole Allen" in the search bar

[–] DivineChaos100@hexbear.net 11 points 6 days ago

Yeah all the fash infiltrated "resistance" channels are mind blown about the obvious bot account putting two fairly common names after each other, this is like when Shitpostbot5000 was still a thing (RIP) and people were spamming "S E N T I E N C E" under every post instead here it doesnt have a hint of irony
