There are 342 entries, a bit more than 10/day. There isn't any way to directly filter more specific than that (for warehouses/retail), but it's also just one city. Being designated as "commercial" implies the location is a workplace. So I guess we can imagine each of these as a spark of rebellion???

Most acts of workplace sabotage are not grandiose; there is nothing to put on tik tok. People know how to fuck with their employer in a way that keeps themselves and their communities safe.

It's very stupid to even fantasize about a trend of angry workers starting fires like this. For goodness sake, the more neglient and avaricious the employer, the laxer attention to safety, the less likely everyone is to get out alive and safe. Nobody here even knowing the triangle shirtwaist or anything? Industrial fires (however they start) are often catastrophes for working class people.

They have a choice between either putting that content on their own platforms or watching visitors trickle to competing platforms where they can get that content.

Much as newspapers have a choice between printing news about such actions or watching people buy competing newspapers that have it in there. They print it while putting their own spin on the events.

Really the only difference between the two is that the editor of the newspaper is a human hand while the editor of the internet plaforms is the algorithm. They have degraded their control by handing things over to automation. The algorithm will never be a spindoctor, even with ai.

they are really selling us the rope we hang them with. i'm expecting they clamp down on this shit sooner rather than later though, they can't be that stupid.

The algorithms aggressively pushing this to get hold of the attention economy will likely increase the probability of copy-cats
