Tucker, imma be honest with you man, I don't care. But you are more likely to "commit suicide" with two to the back of the neck, than get arrested. The Trump admin got their little war. And you didn't do much of anything.

[–] Bronstein_Tardigrade@lemmygrad.ml 6 points 4 hours ago (1 children)

Julian Assange got the full court press and they still couldn't get the job, and he was a real journalist. If they really wanted rid of Carlson, they would just have Mossad toss him out a window.

[–] stink@lemmygrad.ml 3 points 2 hours ago

Bro got questioned by their TSA (like every arab does when traveling to isntreal) and cried about it saying they're targeting him lol

The amount of hilariously stupid or genuinely terrifying evil this man would have to do to get “arrested” (they do that?) by the CIA when you’re Lord Tucker Whiteman, Earl of Frozen Dinner

I will not be suspending my belief for this man

Lord Tucker Whiteman, Earl of Frozen Dinner

Critical support for both sides.

[–] The_Walkening@hexbear.net 26 points 10 hours ago (2 children)

Haha, fuck that guy, don't give a shit. You don't need to hand it to him, the "anti-war" right doesn't exist, it's just an attempt to recruit liberals.

[–] deforestgump@hexbear.net 13 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

Tucker is quite literally a frat guy who enjoys doing stuff he's "not supposed to do". Everyone can laugh at the class clown when he makes fun of the teacher. Under no circumstances should you entertain taking him to the dance.

[–] GalaxyBrain@hexbear.net 3 points 6 hours ago (1 children)

As a former class clown and now a work clown, I'll have you know im just funny.

[–] MarxMadness@hexbear.net 17 points 9 hours ago (1 children)

The anti-war right exists the same way there's version of me on Friday at 4:00 pm that doesn't want to have 15 beers.

It's there, for a moment, and it may even sound sincere, but it will change direction at the drop of a hat.

That's a pretty good analogy. The right yearn for wars. They are warmongers at the end of the day. No matter what they say or how much they protest, they will get in line.

[–] theuniqueone@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 6 hours ago

Hopefully they take each other out.

[–] Nacarbac@hexbear.net 20 points 9 hours ago (1 children)

Eh. Conspiracy brain says that this is just to lend him an anti-establishment aspect, so that he's better positioned to control the wilder right wing.

[–] darkcalling@hexbear.net 9 points 9 hours ago* (last edited 9 hours ago) (1 children)

Good I say. An anti-war, anti-zionist-entity right is good actually and they'll still be fighting the remaining right which is pro-zionist and pro-war factions.

If the American empire is indeed winding down and part of that means abandoning the zionist outpost as untenable I think the Palestinian people would say that's a good thing.

[–] Lussy@hexbear.net 7 points 8 hours ago

An anti-war, anti-zionist-entity right is good actually

Lol? This is like the dems wanting a strong republican party, fuck that

CIA mad their guy was moonlighting for somebody else

[–] Infamousblt@hexbear.net 32 points 11 hours ago (3 children)

The enemy of my enemy can still be my enemy but that doesn't mean I won't enjoy watching my enemy get taken down

I don't think he's even that, it's all an act. It's theater, keyfabe. Tucker's family has CIA connections. He's a CIA mouthpiece historically. He's playing the part of the heel who face-turned. He's "controlled opposition" to the "deep state"

I don't know, the CIA is responsible for many more millions of deaths. I know it's a fucked timeline when I would consider donating to a tucker carlson defense fund lol

[–] Awoo@hexbear.net 6 points 8 hours ago* (last edited 8 hours ago)

Dude's a millionaire he doesn't need a fund

[–] Sunforged@lemmy.ml 11 points 11 hours ago (1 children)

If they try to take him out of the equation they better be successful or they will only give him more legitimacy to the masses...

That's the point. The CIA might "arrest" him and then be "forced" to let him go based on pressure. Tucker's got CIA connections. They are manufacturing a situation for him where he's the controlled opposition.

[–] nasezero@hexbear.net 5 points 8 hours ago

I guess it makes sense that US mainstream media is so utterly and completely captured by capital, that the open fascists have no other option than to immediately jump to cannibalizing themselves curious-marx

[–] darkcalling@hexbear.net 7 points 9 hours ago (3 children)

This thread does certainly reveal a certain American-brained-ness among many on this site. Treat loving users from their armchairs seethe on a guy they've hated since they watched him spar with Jon Stewart and agreed with Jon because they think American politics is a sports match still despite claiming leftism and they want to see their "enemies" who they hate on a personal level suffer. Do they care or notice if this suffering is at the hands of much more monstrous, barbaric, murderous, and evil institutions and organizations that apparently think he impedes their mission? Apparently not.

Yes Tucker is a reactionary, yes he might even be deep cover CIA as Putin hinted. But if the reason to hate him is he's CIA then rooting for the CIA against him is ridiculous (you're being taken in by kayfabe or else rooting for them cleaning up a wayward mess successfully) . If he's not CIA then he's some sort of potentially genuine anti-interventionist reactionary which is GOOD. Even if he is deep cover CIA the fact is he's against the zionist entity and can credibly offer reasons why to the right and collapsing that right now is very important in the wake of the continuing Gaza genocide.

The problem for the global south is not that you Americans have mean reactionaries who are mean to your domestic populations, you've always had those and some had a (D) next to their name. The problem for the global south and the cause of liberation of the entire global proletariat including the American one is the American empire.

Anything that saps that, that divides against its unity at home is good almost by definition. It's why we didn't need much analysis to say we side with Russia in Ukraine because the US/NATO empire is the bigger threat and problem (on top of Nazis being evil and any fight against them being righteous).

Could he become a bigger problem in the future? Possibly. Do I see him overcoming the MIC money and long interests and drive to war to become president? Ehh I'm not so sure I buy that, not in the next 4 years anyways and those are 4 years he's agitating against American interests, doing interviews with Putin, saying we shouldn't fight for the zionist entity, etc.

Fact is Tucker also shames the bourgeois press institutions of this country. By merely making an effort at appearing to be an actual journalist who actually covers "all sides" in a non-constrained to within the approved narrative way he brings up important points for questioning everyone from Fox News to NBC to ABC and CNN to your average American who has never seen someone in the modern era looking like a real journalist who actually interviews "enemies". Quite possibly, probable he does some sort of Alex Jones rug-pull down the line but for now he's useful peeling people away from the real problems.

You don't have to like him. There's not that much to like about the current Russian government yet we critically support them. I'm not even saying critically support Tucker, I'm saying you're rooting for the greater evil against the lesser evil in rooting for the CIA against him and that to my mind doesn't make sense. It's very liberal "team brained" and I think you should all be more introspective.

jagoff

Imaging writing a screed to call us all libs for not standing up for a genocidal piece of shit on an internet forum

This thread does certainly reveal a certain American-brained-ness among many on this site. Treat loving users from their armchairs seethe on a guy they've hated since they watched him spar with Jon Stewart and agreed with Jon because

blob-stop

The only reason you should be against this is because it triangulates antiimperialist messaging away from leftists to channel it into worse fascism by bringing liberals into the fray. Everything else is utter tripe.

[–] plinky@hexbear.net 1 points 4 hours ago

Same reason muricans get mad about rand paul, a lesser piece of shit than half the dems globally, but he denies them treats, so they are big mad. But i do have more respect for libertarians than dsa, so

Yes Tucker is a reactionary, yes he might even be deep cover CIA as Putin hinted.

He's a CIA asset, it's not even particularly subtle. Tucker is controlled opposition, the CIA pretends to "oppress" him to grant him legitimacy.

[–] SorosFootSoldier@hexbear.net 21 points 11 hours ago (4 children)

EXTREMELY critical support to the...CIA.

[–] UmbraVivi@hexbear.net 21 points 11 hours ago (4 children)

I'd rather he not get arrested right now. He's one of the biggest voices eroding support for the entity on the right.

[–] PKMKII@hexbear.net 12 points 10 hours ago

Yeah he’s definitely a ghoul and needs to be thrown in the barbara-pit, but right now he’s one of the few voices on the right calling out the rank hypocrisy of the anti-interventionist MAGA movement 180’ing overnight to being neocons.

On the other hand, if he was arrested and the discourse surrounding it immediately became, he’s being arrested to silence his criticism of the Iran War, that could be useful. It sucks shit that Amerikkka is like this, but it’s undeniable that the typical burgerlander is going to be more swayed by the white conservative heir getting rounded up by the state over his opposition to a war of aggression on the behalf of Israel than the same happening to a Muslim student.
