I think the peaceful protest time is over. Fascism is already at our front doors.

Yes. Even if this protest is peaceful, people need to come with more confrontarional rhetoric. I am sick and tired of the punny signs about love winning and smiles and roses. They’re fucking executing people in the streets and we need to get mean.
I think as soon as someone shoots an ICE agent, Trump declares a state of war, suspends Congress, and rolls tanks into Boston. He's clearly itching to do that anyway, so certainly be ready. But I don't see the people winning at this point; the military appears to largely be following Trump's whims still.
He'll do it no matter what. It's a powder keg.
and until someone does, he just ignores congress and sends ICE and/or the National Guard... you are already there my friend
I think what we just watched unfold in Minnesota demonstrates the power of peaceful, organized protest
what? ICE promising but not quite leaving after killing a few people, assaulting dozens and harassing thousands?...
I am not advocating for violence, but unless you at the very least consider holding these marches in the middle of the week when economic activity is hurt, you are just dancing for rain
I totally forgot how the ICE nazis got justice for their unlawful public executions. Yay peace and love!
Put this on your sign: Make Americans Kill Nazis Again
The neoliberal organizers will be sad and have you ejected from the protest after notifying the police that you're using dangerous words.
You better Brock traffic or have a general strike otherwise this is just theater
Are you a radical?!!!!!!
If I get around to making it im doing my constitution thing. citizens accept it, patriots defend it, traitors violate it.
sure by all means, i went to one. was used by the media as a joke, because they do not represent leverage for change.
“Cops=ICE=🐷=fascist bootlickers”
“Cops and ICE love protecting pedophiles”
“Seth Moulton hates trans people and is not your friend”
Sadly, power does not belong to the people.
power is never given.
power is taken.
At this point, the ongoing “No Kings” protests just prove to the fascists in charge that they have nothing to fear from peaceful opposition showing up in large numbers.
The protests aren’t just ineffective, they actively embolden the administration by demonstrating that no real opposition exists.
The French are better at protest and revolution—we need their help.
In case you're poorly informed and not just outright opposition:
These protests are working towards that critical 3% - 4% of the NATIONAL population goal, basically a critical mass of resistance. We have to work with reality. The USA is not France. The people of this country are deeply divided. What works in France works because that is France. There have been 2 national No Kings protests, and there was exponential growth between them.
To call these protests ineffective is, frankly ignorant. It demonstrates that you do not understand the purpose (i.e. working towards a singular, large, nationwide protest involving 3% - 4% of the country), or the additional benefits of these types of protests in terms of building solidarity. Do you even attempt to inform yourself on the matter? It's okay if you don't, just kind of sad to see someone so adamantly against people trying to make a difference and I'm close to being of the opinion that with "friends" like this, who needs enemies.
"we need their help."
We can't help you grow some balls.
Another problem with your awful country is most desire no more than to go back to the situation it was before.
An awful imperialist warmongering country that also put kids in cages and deported (even more) poor people.
Only difference, they didn't bother the white americans.
So no.
Darn, France said “no”. They were so helpful back in our first revolution…
They were imperialists helping you figh imperialists competing with them.
Who knew you would turn out to become the worst imperialists on the planet.
It's better for the planet if you were gone. ASAP
See? This is the kind of French motivational pep talk we need! Thank you, France!
I'm not French, Belgian.
But it could be the opinion of pretty much anywhere in the world.
I'm not French, Belgian

LOL
Sure, just having some shadenfreude, nice to ridicule you pathetic and impotent whiners
Ah, Belgium, famous for not colonizing any places like Congo.
yawn, invariably they have to mention this 1 lame whataboutism that pales into insignificance to your cancer country from ages ago
Probably had to look it up since you barbarians probably don't know where Belgium is
yes, Saturday... make sure you cause no disruption and clean up after so you can go back to work Monday... that'll show the Orange Pedophile who is in charge
Do you actually hate the idea of pragmatism? Like, do things have to be perfect or else they don't matter to you? I'm of the opinion that perfect is the enemy of progress. The fact of the matter is, most people have jobs, bills, obligations, families, and so on. It's inconvenient, obviously, to take time off outside of the weekend and it's ridiculous to expect the average person to choose between putting their job/career in peril versus just having the protest at a time that's convenient for the largest number of people possible. So strange that it's even remotely controversial. Also, with opinions and comments like this, it's basically on the same level as the people who were commenting "why don't these people have jobs" and "why aren't these people in church" that dominated conservative social media during the last 2 national protests -- despite those also falling on a Saturday. Some people, many people, no matter what, cannot accept that these things take time to build and regardless of the nazis and fascism, still need to cater to the largest possible potential number of people as possible.
Also donating to legal funds, to people needing groceries in MN, going to smaller community organizing... glad to hear other actions, but I don't think being visible as a large group hurts, even if by itself it doesn't overthrow the usurpers.
