Leaving aside his neck doing that thing for no reason, I have no idea what his plan was with this. The question was in context of trans mass shooters, which aren't a big segment of either option. What was he even trying to say?

He was trying to deflect to racism when someone called out that his idea that trans people are a danger on the basis of "too many" shooters being trans is ridiculous.
I just assume he wanted to drop the dogwhistle for the hogs and for the bait, analyzing it from the lense of a formal debate will lead you nowhere.
He was about to get owned in the marketplace of ideas. He regularly "lost" debates to college students at these events, and these sort of non-sequiters were a tactic he used to throw off opponents when they were making a good point.
I suppose he was going to make some sort of argument like "Most mass shootings are done by black people, but we don't count them we just call them gang violence" but instead he got Proven Wrong 
He was too used to it being something they could edit before going out so it would either not make the cut or changed enough to make him still come out on top.
That and he had absolutely no convictions other than getting talking points out

When I saw that footage the day it happened I instantly knew that bozo was dead. You don't bleed out that much and come back from it. 
I hadn't seen it at first but every time someone said "it's not confirmed he's dead" the reply was some variation of "Did you see the video? He's dead"

I've seen death from gunshot, I knew immediately too. The way his body moved was a spinal cord reaction to the brain being shut off or disconnected.

There's a conspiracy theory growing that Charlie Kirk was actually killed by using a shaped detonation charge in his microphone in the shirt collar (a la Israeli pager) and the gun guy was set up.
"Charlie Kirk was 31, Israel's oldest victim yet"
There's one guy that did a fairly convincing recreation with a squib, but idk if I believe that. There were some other guys that did analysis of the time between cracks, and found it didn't match the shooter being where the shooter officially was.
I think the biggest thing is the timeline of rifle disassembly and reassembly doesn't line up at all, especially considering the disassembled rifle wouldn't be able to fit in the backpack that was in the video. There was some gun guy that bought the exact rifle, and the exact backpack, and the official story clearly doesn't line up there.
But ultimately I don't think it's a huge deal what really happened. It's created a decent amount of conflict among conservatives, what with Candace Ownes, most people don't care anymore, he probably did actually die, and exposing Kirk as alive probably wouldn't change much tbh.
