China is going to take over taiwan, and the moment an American complains, President Xi is going to hit a 'pedo says what?' so hard it changes the course of human history.

if they did then that would be all the propaganda ammo required to have the files never taken seriously again, the bad chinese published them, you see so they can't be taken into account

[–] save_vs_death@hexbear.net 7 points 10 hours ago

most of wikileaks was disregarded as a timed leak orchestrated by russia to help trump and damage hillary

[–] LeeeroooyJeeenkiiins@hexbear.net 10 points 1 day ago (5 children)

never taken seriously again

if china came out 10 years ago with a trove of emails written by comically racist 12yos who happen to be the most powerful people in the United States people would have called that a badly written black mirror episode

I don't like "everyone is twelve now" as political analysis, because it's insulting to a lot of twelve year olds who are more mature than these dickheads. I'd trust the kids I hung out with when I was twelve to run a country more than I'd trust anyone in power in the US to do so... That said, they are indeed not acting like mature adults.

But you're like... A bear. So what kind of kids hang out with a bear?

[–] alexei_1917@hexbear.net 2 points 10 hours ago

Cool kids, and kids who really need hugs. Lol.

You think that isn't already happening?

[–] LeeeroooyJeeenkiiins@hexbear.net 2 points 18 hours ago

I think it would happen more though

[–] purpleworm@hexbear.net 22 points 1 day ago

There are a number of other places that would have the same knee-jerk dismissal based on opposition to China. Also I think China would probably view it as not conducive to its national security to take those kinds of shots at every opportunity (because such a thing has substantial risk of exposing how they got the information) as opposed to, for example, using its intelligence networks to make sure their own bourgeoisie, diplomats, etc. don't get turned into assets.

A lot of westerners already have a dim view of america, but it's not them who decides international policy, so it doesn't matter, not like the presence of american military bases is put to a public referendum, because everyone would say no. The ruling class is pro-america.

[–] GrouchyGrouse@hexbear.net 7 points 21 hours ago

When it comes to those bases almost every time the locals get a little bit of legal power they end up suing the government because the military went and did some heinous/dangerous/negligent shit all over the locale and the locals are rightly seeking justice.

[–] WokePalpatine@hexbear.net 25 points 23 hours ago (1 children)

It's all in Chinese. No one but them can read it.

[–] stink@lemmygrad.ml 4 points 3 hours ago

Ik this is a joke but the Xinhua institute regularly publishes in English and their paper on how Covid didn't originate in China was a banger

[–] ConcreteHalloween@hexbear.net 26 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I doubt they did. China has a non-interventionist foreign policy, their intelligence assets are probably dedicated to monitoring internal threats than concerning themselves with Mossad honeypots.

these people were just emailing each other in plain text about all this shit, on top of Epstein only really being the latest in western pedophile cabal news, either China (and other) intelligence organizations already knew and sat on the info for Some Reason or, honestly, they're not very good at what they do, and that doesn't seem to be it

[–] MasterBlaster@lemmygrad.ml 17 points 22 hours ago

honestly, they’re not very good at what they do, and that doesn’t seem to be it

I really don't think China had any benefit from spying on Epstein. Mossad assets, maybe, but their definition of valuable intelligence is probably different to that of the West's.

[–] nay@hexbear.net 15 points 1 day ago

This would actually be fucking hilarious...
