It would be interesting if they could get a significant anti-Trump, but still MAGA, movement going in time for 2028, only to see Trump's 3rd term vs neo-MAGA vs whatever the fuck corporate Zone of Interest shit Dems are cooking up. Probably the worst election of our lifetime (so far). It would be an opportunity to let Trump eat the sin cakes while setting up something a little more stable for the future. Kind of like how the MCU started casting younger leads after Endgame so they wouldn't age out of future movies. Also like the MCU it will be something nobody really likes but they keep watching for a Trump cameo in 2038. We will go back to two highly unpopular parties with no real energy until they can convince Gen X to vote for Collarbone or whatever that dipshit's name is.

Honestly, MTG would get called an Israel hating commie if she ran in the DNC. She’s about as publicly and effectively, nominally in favor of ICE as much as any Dem politician, she’s way better on Palestine, on healthcare, on state welfare. She just hate Jews and minorities but honestly, at this point, if you’re some chucklefuck like JB Pritzker who is blatantly opening up their whole ass for the federal government but giving monologues about how terrible it is, what difference does MTG’s racism make anyways?
That would be a clusterfuck of epic proportions. You’d have the post-MAGA candidate simultaneously calling themselves the true successor of Trump while also calling Trump a compromised pdf file defender. Vance (I’m assuming the Trump Third Term strategy will come through Vance as figurehead) will be shitting on the Post-MAGA candidate as preventing Trump from making America three times as great while also doing a horrible job of convincing everyone he totes will be his own president and Trump will merely be an “advisor.”
The soulless corporate dem will be max pearl clutching about Trump violating the constitution by running for a pseudo-third term, which will look like supreme hypocrisy after the absolute ratfucking they and the party did to whatever vaguely left of center progressive runs in the primary to pick up the Bernie banner. The soulless dem will be stuck in this weird place where they’re arguing that the Republicans after Trump will be reasonable and cooperative again, despite the Post-MAGA demonstrating right in front of them that if anything, they’re worse. Both the Post-MAGA and Trump candidates will call the soulless Dem a socialist while paradoxically attacking them as the establishment ghoul that kept down the vaguely left of center progressive that was the true people’s candidate.
In short, every contradiction in American politics turned up to 11.

In some ways this was inevitable because the entire Trump/MAGA branding was built upon “a pox on both houses.” So of course there’s a split between the “Trump has drained the swamp” MAGA and MAGA that are continuing the “everyone in the establishment is compromised” rhetoric.
