I have been absolutely obsessed with IT: Welcome to Derry. I've read Stephen King as a kid and I get so happy with all the little easter eggs, story, lore, etc. Many characters, places he writes about can show up in another book and some movies have little easter eggs to both its original source material book vs. Other books or movies. Super cool.

I'm one of the twelve people on lemmy who likes Marvel.
@Okokimup@lemmy.world i don't hate it but it's not my favorite
Add me and consider yourself a baker!
There are dozens of us! Dozens!
I actually quite like the MCU, especially Loki and Doctor Strange, any of the more magical-ish stuff. I even really like the avengers and Captain America stuff. I just have to shut off the political side of my brain sometimes to enjoy them, otherwise the Americaganda gets to me and bugs me.
Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul.
Watching BCS now. Never seen BB but I heard if you like the pacing of BCS, you might not like BB, is this true?
I LOVE the slow narrative of BCS.
X-files and Twin Peaks.
That's a damn fine choice.
@Theprogressivist@lemmy.world wait, what??? holy shit, TIL
Daredevil show, Luke Cage show, and Jessica Jones show. Not the old time stuff. This was on Netflix not that long ago.
Yeah, I watched them all. Shame they fumbled on the continuations.
Stargate.
Indeed
So say we all
@iAmTheTot@sh.itjust.works stargate and... ?
Stargate is a complete answer to the question.
Just Stargate.
Ok, so, this is my favorite, not because I love the shows, although I do like some of them, but because it's fun to chain links and how long you can make it.
We start with the "Munchiverse", most people know Detective John Munch from his long career in Law & Order SVU, and obviously all of the Law and order are in the same universe, but also they've had crossovers with Chicago Fire which is in the same universe as Chicago PD and others. They've also had crossovers with FBI and New York Undercover. But I said this is the Munchiverse, and I only mentioned Munch once, this is where it gets interesting, X-Files has an episode where detective John Munch shows up, he also shows up in Arrested Development and The Beat. And going one extra link X-Files is canonically set in the same universe as Twin peaks. Going back to Munch, he's originally from another TV show called Homicide: Life on the street, and in that TV show they investigate a doctor from the TV show St. Elsewhere, in that TV show someone mentions working with a Dr from M.A.S.H. I'm sure more links could be made.
Comments like this are exactly why I love Lemmy.
@Nibodhika@lemmy.world the munchiverse!
... I am stunned that on Lemmy of all places no one has yet said star trek!
It may be too hopeful of an IP for the people on the fediverse.
Star Trek is huge 'round these parts. One of the larger servers is trek themed, and there's a whole buncha trek coms on and off it
I do know it’s huge. It was me mostly making a joke about many of the comments on the fediverse being doom and gloom, while Star Trek is about hope and bringing all walks of life together for the better good.
Eureka and Warehouse 13.
This is a great example! Two totally separate shows about weird stuff and then they just do a cross over at a certain point and now they’re linked.
TYPE/MOON created a bunch of stories that are disjoint from one another but are actually in the same universe and may have some faint connections.
Some of the works I've enjoyed:
- Fate/Stay Night & Fate/Zero
- Tsukihime
- Kara No Kyokai (Garden of Sinners)
Dont forget lord el-melloi II's case files. Has both fate stuff and touko :)
Also witch on the holy night, which im still waiting for the anime to release
First time I'm hearing about this! Didn't know that guy Weaver took his dead teacher's name and have his own show lol
Start of the show explains why he had to take the name and im not spoiling it hehe
I dunno if it counts, but all the DCAU. Batman TAS, Batman Beyond, Superman, Justice League, annd more, all slices at different times with crossovers.
And Young Justice isn’t technically a part of it, but it feels post DCAU in spirit.
Not really in the same universe technically, but sci-fi movies made by James Cameron and Ridley Scott tend to use the same aesthetic/tech as they didn’t in the Alien franchise so I have personally decided it’s all the same universe. If it had a Power Loader Mech or an Android, it counts.
Alien, Aliens, Avatar, Raised by Wolves, Blade Runner, whatever lol
Weyland Yuyani exists in Predator too, so obviously those are also in the same universe.
Kingsman and kickass movies technically, the comics are mostly ass but I like the crossover
Fionna and Cake + Cheers. "Everyone on Cheers is like 3 inches tall" was such a direct jab at the little-man attitude a celebrity can (and that cast fully did) develop. Hey Arnold looks like it MAY also take place in that universe I just can't prove it yet.
Don't forget the inclusion of The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack when Prismo is skipping through universe "channels!"
There's also a blue jay that looks suspiciously and sounds suspiciously like Mordecai from Regular Show in the Adventure Time episode "Ketchup."
Gravity Falls had a crossover reference with Rick & Morty. (GF would be the only non-Cartoon Network show in this theory)
Over The Garden Wall is canonically in the Clarence universe.
Samurai Jack has an episode that takes place in post apocalyptic Townsville from Powerpuff Girls.
We are getting closer to the grand unified theory of Cartoon Network.
I'd have to go with Bladerunner/Firefly/Alien/Predator all being in the same universe.
What's the link between Firefly and the other ones?
Weyland-Yutani
Is that really the same universe though or is it just an Easter egg?
TIL.
Family guy and the Simpsons. It was established canon in my head that the Simpsons were yellow, because that was just the art style. They're not actually yellow. Than the crossover happened and now I'm confused.
I do remember Homer saying at once point "Kiss my hairy yellow butt." So, they do know they're yellow.
Cloverfield movies. The same universe told from different perspectives.
Jackie Brown and Out of Sight
The MCU
I love Lucy/superman.
