was watching the stream last night because I couldn't stomach the DNC unfiltered, yesterday he was giving them the benefit-of-the-doubt that it was a general influencer purge due to poor logistics but it seems he's been definitively informed otherwise

kicked for talking to the verboten elected party delegates, we're saving the soul of democracy here i-cant

how's it going left caucus of the 99% hitler apparatus, you moving and shaking things yet? yeah-buddy

At some point we need to stop comparing these people to the Nazis and acknowledge their unique contributions and efforts. Let's face it, Hitler could never have come up with "I'm speaking".

America seems to exist in this really unique negative peace where slowly and politely the poor and poc and minorities are being fed into the woodchipper without making a big mess and disrupting brunch.

The nazis made a big show about rounding up jews and undesirables and making space for them to kill them, too much work, too uncivil. Simply just cut off welfare, gatekeep housing, food, medicine, and let the bodies hit the floor.

social murder has so much plausible deniability compared to herding people into industrialized killing facilities

[-] GalaxyBrain@hexbear.net 13 points 3 weeks ago

It's a De-Industrial Revolution (of the bourgeois yet again). The first world is meant to consume and serve and the third world can handle the rest. A new version of enclosure was done by NAFTA and similar policies but to break down these fences you'd have to travel across the world. There is no room for the working class under neoliberalism, there is only those who are upper management and above can afford to live with a small supply of absolutely desperate people fulfilling their service needs, a skeleton staff for the 1st world in general and a MASSIVE surplus population to keep it all in check. The system is designed to do what it does

Surprise surprise, the DNC is taking an anti-Palestinian stance. It isn't even pro-Israel, defeating Palestinians is the goal now.

[-] PorkrollPosadist@hexbear.net 50 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago)

Like Terrance put it recently, the US state has been so close to Israel for so long that it has fully internalized Israel's racial ideology. Palestinians are not humans. The contemporary US state views them no differently than the Andrew Jackson administration viewed the indigenous nations.

War stocks must go even higher

[-] thelastaxolotl@hexbear.net 60 points 3 weeks ago

Cant have the anti-genocide people disrupt the speech of the pro-genocide candidate

[-] MF_COOM@hexbear.net 59 points 3 weeks ago

I genuinely don't get it. How are Mike Lindell and Matt Walsh allowed in but Brace and Liz and Hasan aren't? Like how do you get in, you don't just buy a ticket?

[-] BeamBrain@hexbear.net 59 points 3 weeks ago

Liberals hate socialists more than they hate fascists

[-] nohaybanda@hexbear.net 19 points 3 weeks ago

Liberals hate socialists, they’re simply embarrassed by fascists

[-] CyborgMarx@hexbear.net 44 points 3 weeks ago

Mike Lindell and Matt Walsh allow the DNC suck-ups to rally and create a spectacle beneficial to their circus "Look everyone, we're owning the Trumpers"

Brace, Liz and Hasan instead create only doubts among party loyalists, they bring up issues the party elite want people to forget about, leftists become the party poopers while the Republican scum provide that day's raucous entertainment

[-] MF_COOM@hexbear.net 18 points 3 weeks ago

Yeah I mean I get how letting them in doesn't help the party, I'm more curious about the process - like does the DNC screen every attendee at the door and check them against a list of people forbidden? And like if so how many people are on the list, how is this list made, etc. Or were Brace and Liz kicked out and put on a blacklist because they were fucking around?

[-] GalaxyBrain@hexbear.net 13 points 3 weeks ago

Brace and Liz need to smarten up their infiltration game. Any gumshoe should own disguises, not necessarily to make you look like a different person as you approach the normal entrance, but to look like your allowed through the back. You can just buy security guard uniforms from people that had that job, I got mine from a thrift store. Get a dress shirt and a vaguely red vest and you're hotel staff. Wear a high vis and have a dolley full of boxes and say you're with Sysco. The best way past for surveillance purposes is just to be 'with somebody'.

[-] Shinhoshi@lemmygrad.ml 13 points 3 weeks ago

OP seems to suggest it was specifically press credentials revoked

[-] Imnecomrade@hexbear.net 7 points 3 weeks ago

I think the DNC is just incompetent.

[-] wild_dog@hexbear.net 39 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago)

letting right wingers in allows the DNC to go "look, we accept criticism from the other side" because they recognize that Democrats already disagree with everything they're gonna say about the speeches whereas someone like Liz, Brace or Hasan might make certain criticisms of the party that they don't want getting out because some liberals/progressives and independents may take them seriously. They also want right wing attacks against them bc that's the way they're moving anyway so it's a form of confirmation bias.

The Democrats absolutely do not want any leftist criticisms of their party being platformed at the DNC, even on an independent stream.

[-] goferking0@lemmy.sdf.org 15 points 3 weeks ago

I'm just surprised they didn't full on invite all the Republican craziest like they did the influencers. They could parade them like the never trump Republicans they had speak/think vote in larger numbers than their base

[-] footfaults@hexbear.net 15 points 3 weeks ago

They had a bunch of Republicans speak at the convention.

Hell, Hasan said on stream they let Kellwyanne Conway in!

[-] WhyEssEff@hexbear.net 37 points 3 weeks ago

press credentials were revoked, not his convention credentials

[-] TheDoctor@hexbear.net 10 points 3 weeks ago

It wasn’t even press credentials. It was his credentials to be on that particular floor.

[-] sharkfucker420@hexbear.net 32 points 3 weeks ago

Liberals are more scared of socialism than fascism

[-] Evilsandwichman@hexbear.net 16 points 3 weeks ago

Overton window: The far right are only concerned about complaining and advocating about stuff they're allowed to complain and advocate about; they can argue about DEI and white supremacy because these are ridiculous positions and you can argue clearly evil positions and pretend you're the good guy; what the heck are you supposed to say to someone calling out the genocide of the Palestinians and America's role in providing a never ending supply of bombs to Israel so that the Palestinians can't have one night of peace? At the very start of all this they may have been able to (erroneously/deceptively) make the argument they're fighting Hamas, 10 months on and a literally flattened Gaza later with a massive amount of murders and literal videos of horrific stuff the IDF has been doing, it's impossible to argue the point without sounding like a literal ghoul, and they don't want to have to sound like they're evil.

Matt Walsh (and Mike Lindell? I don't know who this is) just wants to argue stupid stuff like companies hiring black people or Walz being an anti-white racist because he makes white guy tacos or whatever.

[-] Nakoichi@hexbear.net 8 points 3 weeks ago

Mike Lindell

The MyPillow guy

After this shit and the speech kkkamala gave I feel like we're in the full on 4th reich now, it's so gross.

[-] miz@hexbear.net 36 points 3 weeks ago

don't forget the frothing adulation and SIEG HEIL vibes as Netanyahu addressed congress

[-] WhyEssEff@hexbear.net 54 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago)

the party of democracy when you talk to people who were democratically-elected throughout the states to represent a significant chunk of their constituents dennis-stare

[-] SorosFootSoldier@hexbear.net 50 points 3 weeks ago

He's a BernieBro that hates billionaires and israel, the democrats are not going back to that sweetie.

[-] Evilsandwichman@hexbear.net 26 points 3 weeks ago

that hates billionaires

I'm going to be honest, I think even this criticism is now allowed by reflecting people who complain about it as silly socialists because the average person clearly doesn't grasp what capitalism is doing to the country.

[-] heatenconsumerist@hexbear.net 32 points 3 weeks ago

[-] DragonBallZinn@hexbear.net 28 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago)

If democrats could just bend the knee to the left just a little bit, they’d kick so much ass.

But then again, they’d no longer be democrats.

[-] GalaxyBrain@hexbear.net 12 points 3 weeks ago

They'd literally just be the democrats before Carter

[-] Black_Mald_Futures@hexbear.net 21 points 3 weeks ago

um akshually sweaty Hasan was disallowed the room because the parliamentarian said he had to go, it was just the rules 😔

[-] Cysioland@lemmygrad.ml 5 points 3 weeks ago

I'm surprised that the Senate Parliamentarian is not an ancient old man but a relatively young (for an Amerikkkan politician anyway) woman
