I always see diplodocus and wanna call it a boopasarus because in Ark: Survival Evolved they’re friendly guys who just boop you around everywhere.

[-] JovialMicrobial@lemm.ee 5 points 2 months ago

Next time I fire up Ark i am taming the closest Diplodocus and naming it Mr. Diplococcus.

[-] ColeSloth@discuss.tchncs.de 5 points 2 months ago

Diplodocus is loaded with gonorrhea. It's just that the sex kills you before he spreads it to ya.

[-] ladicius@lemmy.world 2 points 2 months ago

[-] shukufuku@lemmy.ml 4 points 2 months ago

[-] dutchkimble@lemy.lol 4 points 2 months ago

Why is one spelt with a double C at the end though

[-] leisesprecher@feddit.org 10 points 2 months ago

Because it's derived from the Greek kokkos, meaning berry, because the bacteria are round (like berries) and not elongated like other bacteria.
