I don't know whether it's a urban legend, but apparently Icelandic has a hundred or so names for snow. We have many specific words for what is important for our survival. ๐๐๐ค
Here in Sweden the rumor says that its the Inuits who have 100 words for snow.
Fun info about that for meme aficionados: that expression and its various clones are the basis for the general concept of those reusable templates called "snowclones".

Here in Australia the rumor is that snow is made up by other countries to flex on us!
Yeah but you also have to turn your monitors upside down to read and are constantly living with spiders in your ears.
And snakes in their toilets.

Same with Inuit. I guess it makes sense when snow is such a dominant part of your life.
