Beat me to it.
If anyone somehow missed this meme when growing up or are older, it's a CGI comedy movie called Shrek, and the man speaking is Lord , Farquaad who is voiced by the very talented John Lithgow.
Remember a few years ago when the Lieutenant Governor of Texas told people to die of COVID for the economy?
We've now gotten to the point where it's just die to vote.
Then: Vote or die!
Now: Vote and die!
Vote Or Die!
Die To Vote!
Vote or Die
"Puff Daddy? What are you doing here....?"
Soon it'll be just "Die"
And these morons will do it.
Maybe we should "let them die" like they wanted back when Ron Paul was running.
Shhh. We need less people, and I’d prefer “they” be the ones to die. ;)
It isn't even the important vote though.
Shouldn't he want his supporters alive for the actual vote and not just the primaries?
Here is my answer to all such questions: https://www.dailykos.com/stories/2017/10/12/1705902/-Former-Wharton-Professor-Donald-Trump-Is-the-Dumbest-Goddam-Student-I-Ever-Had
It's also a coin flip if the American public are going to vote him back in again.
I always like to go back to Adlai Stevenson, who, when told that every thinking person was voting for him, replied, "that is not enough, I need a majority."
Foolish if you think that's a joke. He genuinely feels this way.
I'd expect him to realise that he at least also needs them for the presidential election later this year. After that he could burn them off on some sort of insurrection or coup attempt
Unfortunately, he doesn't need the votes in November he just needs the electors to say he won. He can claim fraud again when he loses
So basically: "Some of you might die, but that's a chance I'm willing to take."
Yeah, and do it in shorts and a t-shirt if you really want to own the libs!
I bet you're not MAN enough to walk there! I heard Trump recently did it without even wearing shoes!
I'm okay with Iowa Trump supporters throwing their lives away for Trump. If you're a fan of Trump in 2024 after all he's done, your removal will only improve society.
Very short sighted. Trump should want them to survive until the general election at minimum.
Right? As far as I can tell, the nomination is his as long as he's eligible. He doesn't need people dying to get it.
Oh wow, -40F is -40 in Celsius as well. That's pretty rough indeed.
Trump said “Even if you vote and then pass away, it’s worth it” jokingly? I suspect that it was no joke as the man has no empathy.
Ain't this the same guy who was trying to get votes of people who died from COVID thrown out?
If Trump stood out in the cold and froze to death, that would totally be worth it.
"Uhh! Get over your own death in the cold!!!"
- sweaty, obese man dictating a fake tweet to an intern while sitting on a heated toilet.
I am very ok with Trump encouraging behavior that could kill his followers. I hope they take his advice and go even if they're very sick with COVID.
From 2020, seven people hospitalised: https://www.forbes.com/sites/siladityaray/2020/10/28/thousands-of-trump-supporters-left-stranded-in-freezing-weather-after-omaha-rally/
Yeah, I was just thinking that I 100% agree with Trump on this one.
this is not the first time trump has encouraged his supporters to die for him.
Same guy who told people not to vote in 2020.
Huh.
This is the best summary I could come up with:
Former President Trump encouraged his Iowa supporters to caucus for him at any cost, joking that due to extreme winter weather, “even if you vote and then pass away, it’s worth it.”
Trump canceled three of his four in-person Iowa events Sunday due to the freezing cold and snow.
The Hawkeye State is also recovering from a blizzard that rocked the region Friday and Saturday, icing roads.
The weather is expected to severely hamper turnout for the caucuses, but political analysts are unsure exactly how that may impact the result.
Trump rivals hope the weather will depress turnout for the former president and boost their more die-hard supporters.
The bitter cold has also impacted the rest of the Midwest and beyond, with more than 110 million people under wind chill advisories Sunday from the Rocky Mountains to New England.
The original article contains 254 words, the summary contains 139 words. Saved 45%. I'm a bot and I'm open source!
"joking".
-40 ?! I don't think I ever experienced -40 in my life.
"Funnily" we don't even need to ask if it's Celsius or Fahrenheit
I actually checked because I'm ignorant and they use Celsius where I live.
at least it wasn't a global warming joke
Honestly this is why Trump is so popular. If the left was half as motivated they would rule.
"If"? I don't know how old you are but people lined up around the block during a worldwide pandemic (when there was no vaccine) to kick this smelly fatass out. They just didn't go to any rallies because that doesn't matter.
And yet voter turnout is lower in the US than anywhere else
Lower than "anywhere else"? No. Not only does turnout depend on the state and the type of election, other comparable countries have a similar range of participation.
Here's a table of the turnout for the last EU parliamentary elections. You can see it ranges from 22% to 88% depending on the country:
https://www.europarl.europa.eu/election-results-2019/en/turnout/
Now here's a map of turnout in the 2020 election. You can see turnout has a similar range:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Voter_turnout_in_United_States_presidential_elections
Just like COVID!
Iowa should postpone the event.
I hate Trump too, but the title literally comes from a line in the article where it says he was joking. I know it's not JUST a joke, but we (anyone pretending to be actually fair and reasonable) have to stop cherry picking the most ridiculous line and putting it out of context on the title as clickbait.
It’s not like he has ever played the “just jokes” card before. /s
I'm just saying it's not material to his takedown and, of course, when RWM runs with a dumb line from a Democrat we hate it. Be the change.
