Giving credit is cool.

The same screenshot OP posted, but without the username of the original poster scribbled out. An ad shows what appear to be humanoid robots in grey, beige, and dark brown colors with the caption "1X has a new robot that will do all your chores for you for $500 a month". An account named Bennett's Phylactery, username @extradeadjcb, posts the comment "Is it worse if I want the black one or if I don't".

[–] Jankatarch@lemmy.world 3 points 7 hours ago (1 children)

You don't need it to be humanoid. Form follows function and you can have forms dedicated for specific tasks. We don't need to do this.

[–] Agent641@lemmy.world 1 points 1 hour ago

Crab spider robots. They can traverse the house clinging to the ceiling. Fold laundry with 7 appendages at once. Chop veggies, stir the sauce, and operate the fleshlight attachment all at once.

There's a special edition brown one that's really good at yard work.

AKA Hire Anonymous Indian Teleworker for $500 month to pretend they're a robot to do your chores for a month.

[–] 8oow3291d@feddit.dk 1 points 8 hours ago

Even if that was the case, it could still be an amazing value product for many middle class Western households.

AKA Hire Anonymous Indian Teleworker for ~~$500~~ $100/month to pretend they're a robot to do your chores for a month.

FTFY

[–] NoxAstrum@lemmy.ca 76 points 1 day ago (3 children)

I guarantee it does not have a robot that can do all my chores for me.

[–] FatVegan@leminal.space 1 points 9 hours ago

Man, renting one seems actually fun. I would send it on the roof to clean shingles and send it up trees. My basement flooded, good luck down there

[–] CrimeIsLegalNow@ani.social 38 points 1 day ago (1 children)

True, the subscription pays for some Actually Indian dude to pilot it.

[–] Master@sh.itjust.works 15 points 1 day ago (1 children)

If they sold a version that let me pilot my own robot id probably buy one. Or two and have them fight!

hacker kits would be out so quick

[–] a_non_monotonic_function@lemmy.world 11 points 1 day ago (1 children)

If you are afraid that it won't wank you off I had the same worry. I contacted the manufacturer and wanking is def on the table.

[–] surewhynotlem@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago (1 children)

The table is amateur hour. I want to be wanked on the sex swing. Can it accommodate?

It will literally finger-blast your anus without yiu asking.

Yea... I think we can swing a sex swing.

[–] Grostleton@lemmy.dbzer0.com 39 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Does it come in green?

ㅤ

I'd really prefer if my sexbot ejaculated green.

[–] xylol@leminal.space 22 points 1 day ago

Can it just go to work for me and I do my chores at home. It can be on perpetual overtime

[–] TomMasz@piefed.social 17 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I'd have to come up more chores to justify that price. Who the hell is this for?

[–] Dudewitbow@lemmy.zip 16 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

For very rich people where their wealth is already at some ridiculous level and what they value more is time

The company basically is trying to angle the robot as competition against hiring maids/butlers, which will probably cost more than 500$/mo

[–] Evil_Shrubbery@thelemmy.club 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

These bots are for the very rich, yes - to profit from those who will eventually need them to survive (disabled, elderly, those with three minimum wage jobs, ...).

[–] explodicle@sh.itjust.works 3 points 10 hours ago* (last edited 10 hours ago)

If I had three minimum wage jobs in a future where that can rent a robot, then I'd have it carry me around. You'd see an android with a sleeping elder slung over its shoulder, politely maneuvering around the subway.

[–] Evil_Shrubbery@thelemmy.club 11 points 1 day ago

Matabots.

I'm either murdering or hacking (forceful fossification) them.

[–] graphito@sopuli.xyz 13 points 1 day ago

Sir, it's an ad. Why do it here
