all the libs with takes like "wow reddit feels completely different today" seconds after they see misinformation

just so EAGER to believe

you could tell them "Japan has invaded Russia and is pushing ahead towards Moscow" and libs will probably promote you to "trusted news source"

"germany has put boots on the ground to march on leningrad oblast"

[–] Chulk@lemmy.ml 18 points 1 week ago

The irony is that 80% of these "libs" are probably bots run by USA companies/intelligence for other libs on reddit to seal clap along with.

Lol Tom's Hardware is credulous

This alone might do more for the upcoming elections in some countries than everything else done so far in such countries. Thanks Ukraine. 🫡

Ukraine is doing more in the fight against fascism than any other country currently. The irony being that was the reason Russia used to invade them in the first place.

Everyone is just patting themselves on the back for this. There is no pushback. Unbelievable.

Reports from Danish Facebook users is that they have seen a sharp drop of people with Danish names make posts like "Russia isn't the enemy" and "Ukraine is corrupt".

No data.^[Here's some data: 90% of bots are pro-Ukraine] Just apophenia and rumors. Textbook echo chamber.

The entire MAGa cult is a product of Russian intelligence.

Looks like the Tom's hardware article has been modified since. No mention of disinformation anywhere other than the URL. Now it explains that Yandex is a search engine with crawlers.

Journalists keep being the first dominio is disinformation.

[–] TankieTanuki@hexbear.net 30 points 1 week ago (1 children)

The world is getting a break from Russian bots thanks to Kyiv.

They know what they were doing with this subheading. "Russian bots" means disinfo sockpuppets in the common imagination. Nobody is thinking "oh, thank god! Russian search indexes are functioning poorly today. Thank you, Kiev!"

[–] chgxvjh@hexbear.net 12 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Given that disinformation is in the URL it's basically guaranteed that at least the title of the article used to be different.

[–] TankieTanuki@hexbear.net 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I wonder if there are any snapshots of it. Archive.org blocks my VPN so it's a pain for me to check.

[–] manuallybreathing@lemmy.ml 23 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Do these dweebs not know what yandex is? They only use american websites? 🤣

[–] chgxvjh@hexbear.net 16 points 1 week ago

They are willfully ignorant

Redditors believe racism only exists because of Russian interference

[–] NephewAlphaBravo@hexbear.net 34 points 1 week ago (1 children)

russia sent racism terminators back to the 1500s to make our whole history racist

i almost never see pro-Russian comments on reddit. it's literally all CIA bots. i got banned from tankiedeprogram for asking for clarification about what Russia did that was so bad. From what I've seen they don't target civilians and Ukraine uses civilian infrastructure to hide troops and military equipment.

[–] TankieTanuki@hexbear.net 35 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

From what I've seen they don't target civilians and Ukraine uses civilian infrastructure to hide troops and military equipment.

A simple psychological profile of the belligerents makes it clear which side would be likely or motivated to kill civilians.

Russia's POV: "The Donbas is only legally part of Ukraine by an accident of history. Its people are our brethren. They've suffered long enough under the Kiev regime."

Ukraine's^[Specifically, the ardent nationalists who run the AFU] POV: "Greater Ukraine must be cleansed of the Orcs^["Orcs" includes Russian Ukrainians, the natives of the Donbas]! Slava Ukraini!"

[–] abc@hexbear.net 40 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Yeah this has pissed me off so bad today like Yandex =/= bot farms but ok lol

[–] TankieTanuki@hexbear.net 39 points 1 week ago (1 children)

It's the Russian equivalent of Google. But the liberal mind cannot imagine Russians living ordinary lives. They think all Russians wake up each morning and carry out nefarious shenanigans on orders from the state.

[–] Kefla@hexbear.net 31 points 1 week ago (1 children)

sicko-wistful I wish my state would pay me to carry out shenanigans

[–] JoeByeThen@hexbear.net 3 points 1 week ago

They probably would. cia

[–] AntifaSuperWombat@hexbear.net 33 points 1 week ago

Racism has been defeated again, thanks to our brave Azov warriors liberalism

So nice try, tankies, but I'm not letting you take away this victory from us

[–] Monk3brain3@hexbear.net 32 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

Blame Russia or recognize that imperial capitalism a dogshit death cult. You know which way libs will go. If it wasn't Russia it would be Iran, China, Guinea-Bissau etc lol

[–] ClathrateG@hexbear.net 32 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

been crazy watching this in realtime go from; Ukraine drone striked a Yandex datacenter > 'Sites are seeing a decrease in Russian bot traffic' the only evidence being a drop in Yandex webcrawler traffic(technically a bot ig but not the disinformation-spreading sockpuppet kinds that most think of when 'Russian bot' comes up) > Now the Ukraine approved outlets(united24 is kyivindependent/pravda.ua.com levels of journalistically neutral) are spitting back out the story they manufactured and it'll be taken as gospel by every lib without even a second of reflection

edit: lol

Following 2016 there were articles about thousands of attacks on us election offices a day...

Port scans. 🙄

[–] peeonyou@hexbear.net 2 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

my local cable guy came and stole my modem under false pretenses while I was at school when I was in high school because i was "attacking" the ISP's infrastructure by having "pinged their servers".

[–] TankieTanuki@hexbear.net 25 points 1 week ago

I'm getting deja vu. I remember something like this happening a year or two ago, but not enough about it to find it by search terms.

I think it was something to do with a claimed internet outage in Moscow and a supposed simultaneous traffic on certain subreddits. But the traffic data actually showed no correlation and the outage was isolated to a small town in Russia or something.

[–] TankieTanuki@hexbear.net 20 points 1 week ago

Wouldn't the Russian military have its own servers?

[–] krolden@lemmy.ml 18 points 1 week ago

Yet they all still use Facebook.

[–] heatenconsumerist@hexbear.net 10 points 1 week ago

God please bring back the bots. My Twitter feed is fucking filled with lib nonsense right now :((

[–] Tabitha@hexbear.net 10 points 1 week ago (1 children)

holy shit this is terrible i hope they are able to recover all those center datas

[–] peeonyou@hexbear.net 2 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

that's why i store all my data on the edges, i knew everyone was going to get upset at the centers

[–] vice2remember@hexbear.net 9 points 1 week ago

Liberal's genuinely shot the first shot in the current election denialism that they hate so much with trump. Like, you spent four years shouting about how trump was elected by Russians, you can't be surprised when trump suggests that electoral fraud occurred in the next election? Interesting how only elections that go the way you want are "fair and free"
