he's also going to give seniors a one time $90 check to help cover their medical expenses

[–] MeetMeAtTheMovies@hexbear.net 23 points 1 day ago

I think it’s still a bribe even if you’re lying, Mr. president

Money up front, ho

I'll admit when he first made this pledge a couple weeks ago, I underestimated Americans and assumed they'd fall for it, at least enough of them to boost his candidates in the polls or give the dems the excuse they're desperately looking for so they can snatch defeat from the jaws of victory

And while the libs on cue responded in the worst way possible (sounding like Bush era republicans), turns out his polling went down afterword, guess even his own supporters don't believe him anymore

the dems should promise that if they win a veto proof control of congress, they will give us all $5,001.

like even as a bit, it would be funny to start a bidding war lmao.

[–] Chapo_is_Red@hexbear.net 12 points 1 day ago

Let the bidding wars begin!

[–] AntiOutsideAktion@hexbear.net 52 points 1 day ago (1 children)

It has been VERY annoying seeing libs react to this

biden-alert you're not supposed to offer voters money like that!

[–] Damarcusart@hexbear.net 21 points 1 day ago

muh muh muh decorum! You have to promise that money through winks and nudges and a 0.17% decrease in taxes on small business owners!

[–] kittenzrulz123@hexbear.net 47 points 1 day ago

Wow thats crazy he totally has never promised this before

[–] sharkfucker420@lemmy.ml 44 points 1 day ago

The 18th Brumaire everyone. Written 1852

[–] Kefla@hexbear.net 46 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Guys, why don't you believe him? He's only promising to give away a trillion dollars. Pocket change!

[–] mar_k@hexbear.net 29 points 1 day ago

Didn't he already promise thousands from tariff return checks and DOGE checks?

[–] GenderIsOpSec@hexbear.net 29 points 1 day ago

me when i lie: trump-feed

[–] InevitableSwing@hexbear.net 37 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I look forward to singing those checks!

I'm sure you've got your trusty Sharpie at the ready!

[–] miz@hexbear.net 37 points 1 day ago (1 children)

show me the idiot that thinks Trump will individually sign 270 million checks (and then give me his check)

[–] miz@hexbear.net 31 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

at one signature per second, no stopping to eat or sleep, it would take almost nine years

what if there is electoral deadlock

Then the prediction markets take twice as much money because they take both sides.

Conservatives are just stupid and greedy enough for this to be his most effective plan yet.

[–] NephewAlphaBravo@hexbear.net 30 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

joe biden still owes me $2000

[–] CrawlMarks@hexbear.net 1 points 1 day ago (2 children)

I would vote for him and him giving the workers of the country money before I voted for a Democrat. Even knowing he is lying it is a better move than voting for a DNC pick. They will just get the same policies passed either way and not even offer the 5k.

[–] Johnny_Arson@hexbear.net 47 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (3 children)

I would vote for him

Let me stop you right there. Jesus christ can we stop with these unironic trump vote comments ffs.

[–] Kumikommunism@hexbear.net 10 points 1 day ago (2 children)

As opposed to all the unironic Democrat vote comments , which are fine, apparently.

[–] Johnny_Arson@hexbear.net 23 points 1 day ago

Where did I say that? This is the same insufferable lib shit in reverse of "oh you're not voting for [Democrat] so you must want Trump to win!"

smuglord

Spare me that bullshit please

[–] CrawlMarks@hexbear.net -1 points 1 day ago

Yeah, people are reading with their gut and not thinking things true on the math for sure for this one.

[–] SchillMenaker@hexbear.net 5 points 1 day ago

"Capitalists will lie about giving you the rope to hang yourself with."

-Apocryphal

[–] CrawlMarks@hexbear.net -1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Remind me what good things the democrats will do with my vote again? Roe V wade? Card check? No. They will make liberals feel good and the same things will happen anyway.

They only actual difference is that advancing the idea of the government helping people or not. They aren't going to do it either way but democrats dont even have the will power to pretend they will help.

[–] Johnny_Arson@hexbear.net 26 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Did I say vote Democrat? Like I replied to the other person this is exactly the same garbage I hear from libs when explaining why we should not vote for them "oh so you're voting for Trump".

I hear it enough everywhere else so please spare me this thought terminating cliche. Thought people here of all places would be better than that...

Unfortunately we love to respond to inferred subtext rather than explicit content here on hexbear just as much as everywhere else.
