/c/TenForward: Your home-away-from-home for all things Star Trek!

Re-route power to the shields, emit a tachyon pulse through the deflector, and post all the nonsense you want. Within reason of course.

~ 1. No bigotry. This is a Star Trek community. Remember that diversity and coexistence are Star Trek values. Any post/comments that are racist, anti-LGBT, or generally "othering" of a group will result in removal/ban.

~ 2. Keep it civil. Disagreements will happen both on lore and preferences. That's okay! Just don't let it make you forget that the person you are talking to is also a person.

~ 3. Use spoiler tags. Use spoiler tags in comments, and NSFW checkbox for posts.
This applies to any episodes that have dropped within 3 months prior of your posting. After that it's free game.

~ 4. Keep it Trek related. This one is kind of a gimme but keep as on topic as possible.

~ 5. Keep posts to a limit. We all love Star Trek stuff but 3-4 posts in an hour is plenty enough.

~ 6. Try to not repost. Mistakes happen, we get it! But try to not repost anything from within the past 1-2 months.

~ 7. No General AI Art. Posts of simple AI art do not 'inspire jamaharon'

~ 8. No Political Upheaval. Political commentary is allowed, but please keep discussions civil. Read here for our community's expectations.

Fun will now commence.

That part can only be stored turned around backwards, otherwise the E-dong is scandalously exposed

[–] schipelblorp@sh.itjust.works 47 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Perhaps. "Fully functional" can come in a lot of configurations.

[–] kboos1@lemmy.world 24 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Rolls in a room with a selection cart like a desert waiter.

"Excuse me, would like to choose from my fine selection of life like genitalia or will you be selecting from a more......interesting selection tonight?"

[–] MaggiWuerze@feddit.org 9 points 2 days ago

Like a box of dremel bits.

"Today's recommendation is the flail"

[–] nebthron@lemmy.world 34 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I mean, how do you think it plugs in to charge?

[–] DokPsy@lemmy.world 14 points 2 days ago

Is that why his daughter had such a short operating life?

The only reason, and I mean the ONLY reason, why we see an exact replica of Data's butt-cheeks here is because otherwise we'd see an exact replica of Data's fully-functional android genitals.

And the thing with Tasha Yar is not the only reference we have to Data's complete anatomy, because we also get to learn that Data needed a modesty routine or he'd just walk around the colony with everything on display.

[–] _stranger_@lemmy.world 12 points 2 days ago (2 children)

They don't seem to have his hands on display. His feet are, but no hands. They could have easily hid the ass and displayed the hands.

[–] Tattorack@lemmy.world 8 points 2 days ago

I might be remembering wrong, but I do believe his hands are displayed too. Either the Mysterious Myst is obscuring them or the view is blocked.

"It's fully functional, by the way."

"It better not function while we're carrying it back to the ship or you're gonna be cleaning my unitard."

[–] jaybone@lemmy.zip 17 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Was it Generations where Riker says “smooth as an android’s bottom”?

[–] Thebeardedsinglemalt@lemmy.world 13 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Insurrection, when he shaved his beard.

[–] jaybone@lemmy.zip 12 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Nice. Thanks. And Data gives a little smirk like “no, it’s not”

[–] forbiddencherry@lemmy.today 19 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago) (1 children)

It's doubtful that I'd recognize a copy of my butt cheeks on sight. Kinda take after President Skroob on that one.

[–] sundray@lemmus.org 11 points 2 days ago (1 children)

"Why didn't anybody tell me my ass was so big!"

[–] EnsignWashout@startrek.website 3 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

"You know what, forget it. I'll walk."

[–] MJKee9@lemmy.world 12 points 2 days ago (1 children)

My coworkers ..."why does that cutting board have a crack in it?"

[–] GreenKnight23@lemmy.world 3 points 2 days ago

that's where the poop comes out.

coworkers:

un-fuckin-believable

[–] taiyang@lemmy.world 15 points 2 days ago (1 children)

The fucked thing is, it's at your coworkers home and clearly sculpted with the utmost care. Was it from photos? Was it from memory? Who knows but you might need to contact HR.

[–] ephrin@sh.itjust.works 10 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Isn’t it actually at his family home? Birthplace?

[–] taiyang@lemmy.world 6 points 2 days ago

Oh sure, I meant in my case, when my wax figure of my ass was on full display.

Although you raise an interesting point... what if you found it in your family home? Lol

Yeah, it was at the home of the guy who created him

[–] yakko@feddit.uk 6 points 2 days ago

"I've taken the liberty of replicating this twenty-five cent piece, would you care to... bounce it off that thang?"

[–] southsamurai@sh.itjust.works 9 points 2 days ago (1 children)

You say "I'd tap that"

And then tap it

[–] edgemaster72@lemmy.world 5 points 2 days ago

*tap tap tap* Is this thing on?

No commander, it is currently powered down and disassembled.

[–] HumanOnEarth@lemmy.ca 12 points 2 days ago

"Commander, I'm detecting what I understand to be...arousal. Is there a....human nuance present that I appear to be missing?"

[–] swab148@lemmy.dbzer0.com 6 points 2 days ago

I wonder if Spiner modeled those himself

[–] MelodiousFunk@slrpnk.net 14 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Do? DO?!? I'll tell ya what I'd do. Pop zits, that's what I'd do.

[–] schipelblorp@sh.itjust.works 5 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I'd rather have a zit than a gorch.

Damn. I guess that really is the Federation's ass.

[–] ilinamorato@lemmy.world 10 points 2 days ago (1 children)

The funny thing is, this is almost exactly as awkward for Data and his coworkers Riker and Geordi as it is for Brent Spiner and his coworkers Jonathan Frakes and LeVar Burton. Data being an android is equaled out by Spiner being by all accounts a really crazy guy who's down for whatever, and the other two being more-enlightened 24th-century humans is equaled out by Frakes and Burton being actors.

[–] BillyClark@piefed.social 1 points 2 days ago

I often see clips from Spiner and Frakes podcast, Dropping Names, and one of the fun parts is seeing what characters they are, especially Brent. He's definitely a bit eccentric, but somehow not as much as I was expecting.

[–] Zephyr@sh.itjust.works 10 points 2 days ago

Givem a good slap and offer your coworkers a try.

[–] JcbAzPx@lemmy.world 11 points 2 days ago (4 children)

Be thankful it wasn't stored the other way around.

"Now that's a Soong ass"

[–] mushroommunk@lemmy.today 9 points 2 days ago

Go find "not" Tasha Yar and see where it leads

[–] the_riviera_kid@lemmy.world 8 points 2 days ago

Admire the artwork.

[–] mrmisses@lemmy.world 8 points 2 days ago

As a robot? Not give a fuck

[–] kewjo@lemmy.world 7 points 2 days ago

i would flip it around and say "must have been a beta version"

[–] its_kim_love@lemmy.blahaj.zone 7 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I assure you it's fully functional.
