This would be hilarious if it just popped up in the middle of a show for no reason. They're buying bread, and all the bags have these huge clips, no one says anything, they put the bread in the cart, scan it, take it home and put it in the pantry next to other bread with big clips, and the show continues as if nothing happened.

Then in the series finale, they mention it.

"You, know, it's just weird, like the big clips on the bread."

"Right."

Community and Cougar Town had a few jokes like this.

[–] OddMinus1@sh.itjust.works 11 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I'm envisioning it as a running gag for the show. 5 episodes in, it's shown that the clip is taken out to the garage for disposal where they have a huge stack of clips from previously bought bread. 2 seasons in, it's shown in the background that a separate garbage collection vehicle runs up to the driveway and a specially built clip hauler is used to pick up the clips. Another season in, a bread bag clip recycling station is passed while the main characters are driving somewhere. Etc.

I never knew I needed this so much.

[–] AliOski@feddit.nl 18 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I was only able to recognize it was one of those bread clips when you said it. Looked like some huge blob holding a bag of bread and I was not able to recognize it.

I’m right there with you.

[–] Buddahriffic@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago

Have at least one instance where one gets in the way of two characters having a conversation while trying to see each other around it.

British person spotted

(Joking, but this joke is straight out of taskmaster or something)

[–] Broadfern@lemmy.world 44 points 1 day ago (1 children)
[–] usualsuspect191@lemmy.ca 45 points 1 day ago (3 children)

That's why it's funny when I'm naked

[–] wonderingwanderer@sopuli.xyz 10 points 1 day ago

A big dick on a little man is always hilarious

[–] wreckedcarzz@lemmy.world 8 points 1 day ago

That's called "hyper"

Plot twist: you're a barnacle

I thought it might be making fun of the shape of a prefecture or lake or something, but this guy’s Twitter feed is mostly cartoons of people with giant square bodies and tiny heads, and this kind of fits with that theme by itself.

Yes it is. Thought it might have been making fun of a prefecture or lake whose shape resembles that of a bread clip. But it’s likely just a drawing of a giant bread clip for its own sake.

I'm really glad this isn't just the image, that it includes a guy telling us it's funny. I'm not sure I could've worked that out myself.

[–] binarytobis@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago

Honestly, I heard Arin talk about this in one of his recent videos and was curious to look it up but forgot, so I’m glad you included his part.

[–] wonderingwanderer@sopuli.xyz 4 points 1 day ago

It needs a red circle around the bread with an arrow pointing to it, so you know where the focal point is

[–] Bahnd@lemmy.world 9 points 1 day ago (2 children)
[–] LePoisson@lemmy.world 1 points 14 hours ago

Wow I genuinely had no idea there were that many kinds of those little bag clippy thingies. Or that people would take the time to be that invested in a joke. Maybe it's not a joke for someone idk but it seems like one to me.

[–] wander1236@sh.itjust.works 8 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Lotta comments overthinking the joke

[–] captain_aggravated@sh.itjust.works 12 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Yeah, the bread is sideways in the bag. It's hilarious.

Bread doesn't go in the bag that way. So silly.

[–] wonderingwanderer@sopuli.xyz 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

You know, I noticed that too

Such a whimsical jape.

[–] Turret3857@infosec.pub 6 points 1 day ago

Arin hanson

[–] PattyMcB@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago

Quality shitpost. Guaranteed to get a lot of "ackshully" in the comments!

[–] Feathercrown@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago

An occlupanid in the wild!

[–] sangeteria@lemmy.ml 1 points 1 day ago

I thought this was a cool guy w big square hair so it took me a while to get the joke

[–] Reygle@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)
[–] rockSlayer@lemmy.blahaj.zone 32 points 1 day ago (3 children)

I think the joke is that the bread bag is being held closed by a large cinch

[–] twisted@sh.itjust.works 17 points 1 day ago (4 children)
[–] dharmacurious@slrpnk.net 6 points 1 day ago (2 children)

From that page, the bottom right hand corner of this image...

The actual fuck is that?

[–] some_kind_of_guy@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

Found footage of Elmo's dad perishing in a fiery crash?

[–] AgentSeven@lemmy.zip 4 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Never realized they kinda look like the Recognizers from Tron.

[–] binarytobis@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

I saw Tron late and couldn’t stop seeing it.

[–] TastehWaffleZ@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

What the fuck. That seems like a fun project but that’s a lot of time and dedication to a bit

[–] slothrop@lemmy.ca 2 points 1 day ago

Lol! I stopped reading before the first sentence ended, because it gets worse!

Occlupanids are generally found as parasitoids....

[–] gedaliyah@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

I actually thought that was the legit name for a second

[–] Fluffy_Ruffs@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago (2 children)

But why is the cinch so large?

[–] kurwa@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago

It's so you don't lose it like you always do

[–] Agent641@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

Wow, so rude.

[–] Reygle@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

I thought the joke was that the amount of bread was comically small
