The lawyer was making a big thing to say we don't lionize killers. Okay cool so do veterans too then.

Listen, he clearly said he only shot Mr. Thompson and then he mysteriously died afterwards. What if his body just did that?

[–] Futterbinger@hexbear.net 29 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago)

He died with bullet wounds, not of bullet wounds.

[–] moss_icon@hexbear.net 19 points 3 weeks ago

He probably had a pre-existing condition that caused a bullet hole to appear in his back.

"I knew what I was doing was illegal."

At least he didn't say it was wrong.

Now would be a wonderful time to bring out that passive voice you’ve been practicing so much. Please write that Mr. Thompson has a ”fatal experience” after ”violence erupted”.

Mr. Thompson died in an Italian-involved shooting

Also, he had a pre-existing condition

[–] InevitableSwing@hexbear.net 14 points 3 weeks ago

Mr. Thompson's body failed and he died like Palestinians after their house was destroyed after heavily shelling by an unnamed agent of action.

Pleading to stalking charges when the prosecution wanted the death penalty seems like a huge W.

[–] axont@hexbear.net 14 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

Yeah he's still got his state trials and Pennsylvania still has the death penalty. This looks like his defense wanted to try and get the state charges dismissed under the 5th amendment.

Pennsylvania still has the death penalty

The CEO was killed in NYC, so I don't think any serious charges could happen in Pennsylvania? I can't tell from a quick glance at his Wikipedia article. It seems that there is a PA case against him, but I couldn't find the charges. They focus on the NY and federal cases, which I would imagine are the more serious ones. I would expect that the charges in PA would be secondary ones like maybe possession of illegal firearms, etc. From what I can tell, only the federal case had the possibility of the death penalty.

He didn't commit any capital offenses in Pennsylvania though.
