The problem is obviously "Not having a blown out screw hole on either side of the bedpost"

[–] SaltyIceteaMaker@lemmy.ml 100 points 1 day ago (4 children)

this reads like a facebook post

Deep in something alright

[–] Jyek@sh.itjust.works 28 points 1 day ago

It looks more like a bed post to be.

[–] lumpyluggage@lemmy.world 8 points 1 day ago (2 children)

There are SO many awful jokes on Lemmy. I really want to know who the average user actually is. Sometimes I think it's boomers, sometimes it sounds like 15 year olds who haven't had sex yet.

[–] SaltyIceteaMaker@lemmy.ml 1 points 3 hours ago

what about immature boomers?

[–] bus_factor@lemmy.world 5 points 16 hours ago

Don't forget the boomers who haven't had sex yet.

[–] CluckN@lemmy.world 6 points 1 day ago

Be careful I think they meant Facebook not facebook.

[–] axh@lemmy.world 72 points 1 day ago (3 children)

Oh! I know! It's on a boat. Added so the bed won't move during the storm. Right?

Right?

[–] normalentrance@lemmy.zip 45 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Correct. This is for the motion in the ocean.

[–] W98BSoD@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 19 hours ago

I got this notion that the motion of your ocean means small craft advisory.

[–] Meron35@lemmy.world 2 points 19 hours ago

Daisy Cruiser on easy mode

Its a storm alright

[–] MoonManKipper@lemmy.world 46 points 1 day ago (2 children)

I don’t know about your bedpost but those fasteners don’t look adequate to me. Especially into plaster board

[–] btsax@reddthat.com 4 points 19 hours ago

The problem being solved is having a friend who is a drywall contractor who needs some extra work

[–] Return_of_Chippy@lemmy.world 16 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Bet they screwed into metal anchors they sunk in first. Unless those are literally just woodscrews going into drywall lmao.

[–] THE_GR8_MIKE@lemmy.world 11 points 1 day ago

You are giving this photo a lot more credit than I would.

[–] HikingVet@lemmy.ca 1 points 22 hours ago

Those are wood screws into gyprock. That bracket is just stamped sheet steel.

This is to stop your bed from flying away when you read books

[–] trackball_fetish@lemmy.wtf 3 points 17 hours ago

Antihurricane strap obviously

[–] Siegfried@lemmy.world 11 points 1 day ago (1 children)

A friend of mine was showing me his newly acquired box-bed. I dont know how to describe it, but it has a big space in the center to store things and a movable wooden deck.

So, he opens it and the deck was all slided to one side and he says "idk why it keeps sliding" with his wife on my back.

I suggested him to ad some friction to it

[–] Epp@lemmus.org 5 points 19 hours ago (1 children)

Were you giving her a piggy back ride?

[–] Siegfried@lemmy.world 6 points 18 hours ago (1 children)

No, what? She was pegging me /s

My english skills are not really good... she was "at my six" in the sense that i couldn't see her face and yet, i could sense her expression.

[–] Epp@lemmus.org 2 points 17 hours ago (1 children)

Oh! Gotcha. She was "at your back." Sorry for the unintended criticism, I assumed it was a typo I was teasing about.

[–] Siegfried@lemmy.world 2 points 16 hours ago

On the contrary, thank you for correcting me

I will leave it un uncorrected cause it looks funny

[–] Crazyslinkz@lemmy.world 22 points 1 day ago (1 children)

No that doesn't fix it! Shove a pillow in the gap... I mean, uh nothing to see here.

[–] krashmo@lemmy.world 17 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I'm gonna shove something in your gap but it ain't a pillow

[–] bizarroland@lemmy.world 11 points 1 day ago

[–] sexy_peach@feddit.org 16 points 1 day ago (1 children)

The bed is Ikea that's been assembled a second time and would collapse without it πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

[–] REDACTED@infosec.pub 1 points 7 hours ago* (last edited 7 hours ago)

The only bed I'd call good that I've ever had came from Ikea. I don't understand why do people keep buying budget things and then shitting on the entire brand. I also got a standing desk from Ikea and I was surprised by how sturdy it is. You can get a bed for €100 and you can get a bed for €1000. It's not Ikea, it's you. My standing desk was €800

[–] mrmisses@lemmy.world 10 points 1 day ago

They live in a part of town that has a bed shortage and this stops their bed from being stolen

[–] X@piefed.world 8 points 1 day ago

Not all walls can remain upright by themselves and some need the assistance of a sturdy bed to continue doing their job. Truly an honorable bed.

[–] voodooattack@lemmy.world 1 points 17 hours ago

I finally get it. It’s not β€œwedlock”, it’s β€œbedlock”. Which seems like a kind of like a bikelock because it is made for securing a vehicle. Easy. Now I get high score on English test.

[–] zerofk@lemmy.zip 5 points 1 day ago

I’ve seen the exorcist. I know.

[–] Tiral@lemmy.world 6 points 1 day ago

Oh sweet summer child. The innocent ones ARE the ones who have these installed.

[–] Shirow@lemmy.zip 8 points 1 day ago

The people sleeping are moving too much during their sleep. It's to prevent the frame from breaking.

Prefect. Now when I leap into bed from a sprint from the hallway it won't skid halfway across the room anymore.

[–] GreenShimada@lemmy.world 6 points 1 day ago

All wrong answers.

This is a top bunk bed that is two beds stacked on top of each other held in place with metal pegs. This prevents unauthorized users from taking the beds and placing them side-by-side.

[–] ivanafterall@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

It's nothing naughty, it just makes it way easier to restrain your subjects for testing.

[–] NABDad@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Bed frames in college were squeaky. I found a little bit of olive oil took care of it.

[–] ChaoticNeutralCzech@feddit.org 6 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Or you can do this and find out how squeaky the house frame is!

[–] bizarroland@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

Force equals mass times acceleration, so if you're shaking the whole house...
