Honda absolutely has a chance. They’ve got one of the best names in automaking, huge industrial capacity, and also huge capital. They just want to get bailed out like every other car company does rn.

they're also not exclusive to cars, they make a lot of nonsense too

That’s also true lmao I forgot about that

Then lose. What the fuck do you want from me?

It's not you they're talking to. The whole point of this statement is to fear-monger and get the government to give these assholes huge subsidies to "compete", except these subsidies will go straight to the shareholders.

Make no mistake, it's just grifters trying to get the last bit of juice before they declare "yeah we're bankrupt, cheerios"

We stopped trying to improve our product when we realized we were going to lose anyway, but it didn't stop us from asking for a bunch of government money first

It’s the cia state department Havana Syndrome victims strategy of receiving a free $200,000 for a career of evil deeds before fucking off to the private sector, but at industrial scale

Maybe they shouldn’t have spent decades fighting electric cars and spending money on stock buybacks

Good, I hope all automobile manufacturers go out of business. Fuck cars and fuck the people who make them (this doesnt apply to the workers who acturally makes them).

He sounds like the CEO of an American car company.

Edit

Haha. To pad the article length - the writer quote Redditors. Example

"It's really infuriating, isn't it? Like, we want these electric cars and if there was a good production … demand would have gone up," one user replied. "I'm ready to buy electric. I'm ready for removing my dependence on oil."

Didn't another big auto CEO say something similar recently?

What are they angling for, a bailout? Tariffs?

[–] peeonyou@hexbear.net 9 points 1 week ago

ill allow it since they're also building high-speed rail everywhere and pumping out electric cars over gas cars.

Make like tire dust and get into my lungs and waterways, bub.
