I'm playing a Troubadour and I can pump out a lot of recoveries, but only in a limited range. Which is nice, because when we're getting our asses kicked and Leeroy starts hitting the "I need healing" button, I can tell them "I'm not coming to you, I'm running away. You need to come to Me." And then they do. And then we don't tpk!

Picture of Shadowheart, looking down on me

You just saved me. You don't need to reward me too.

I bet her toes smell heavenly

As someone who frequently plays healers, y’all usually need your lives saved because you’ve done something to deserve that look.

Your telling me to move out of the fire?

[–] robolemmy@lemmy.dbzer0.com 7 points 13 hours ago

No, I’m begging you!

Healsluts was a stupid meme. Healdoms makes so much more sense.

Those aren't mutually exclusive.

That's TF2s medic in a nutshell. The number of randos who thing they can boss you around when you hold their life in your hands was hilarious. Turns out near everyone wants your help so you don't have to put up with that random DPS who thinks they are king shit and get to dictate the fun for two people instead of one.

My favorite here is when they would ignore your planning in voice chat and demand an uber before leaping into a suicidal death. I would just let them die. Like, no dude, I'm not going to waste my charge on a gambit that will not work because "pew pew I'm cool" is your whole goal. The incessant "MEDIC!!!" spam for the rest of the round was like music to my ears.

Y'all want a medic after that? Go play one.

In love with this new terminology you've gifted me. I'm going to abuse this when I describe my ideal partner.

...I guess that explains why my healer asked if she could mix Oil of Slipperiness with Greater Healing Potion to create Lube of Greater Healing.

Internal bleeding requires internal solutions.

Revives you just to bully you

When the Cleric is only slightly more morally opposed to allowing you to die than to seeing you go on

I've played through Baldur's Gate and I know nothing about Shadowheart because I killed her right at the beginning on my only playthrough xD

[–] TheMinions@lemmy.dbzer0.com 15 points 18 hours ago (1 children)

She adds a lot! I would highly recommend replaying. She ended up being my favorite companion.

Second only to Mama K.

Its a Larian game, the fully voice acted cast is too big for one playthrough. DOS2 requires 2 runs to hear everyone. BG3 requires 3 (2 origin characters and 1 durge run).

[–] TheMinions@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 18 hours ago

I agree.

I did one Tav run, want to do a Gale origin, and just got to the Druid Grove with my Durge.

[–] CaptPretentious@lemmy.world 2 points 12 hours ago (1 children)

I've done that once. Was playing as Bae'zel and Shadowheart was being racists, so she got what she got. An in person meeting with Lady Shar.

[–] teft@piefed.social 1 points 4 hours ago

I do that sometimes if i play as a lolth sworn drow. I skip grabbing her from the pods and then she’s banging on the doors at the ruins. Then if you provoke her by getting closer when she tells you to stop she’ll fight you.

Intentional or being honorable and not save-scumming?

[–] Anchorxiety@reddthat.com 4 points 16 hours ago (2 children)

Intentional. I was roleplaying a slightly evil character and I killed her to take everything she had!

[–] Anchorxiety@reddthat.com 2 points 14 hours ago (1 children)

I was selectively merciful and generous.

[–] teft@piefed.social 1 points 12 hours ago

Chaotic neutral murderhobo in other words...

Embrace that dark urge, buddy.

[–] TheMinions@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 14 hours ago

So you roleplayed like a murder hobo? I mean, valid.

I would try another go round myself, just to see what I missed!

I missed a whole swathe in the underdark section of Act 1 during my first playthrough.

[–] vzqq@lemmy.blahaj.zone 4 points 17 hours ago (1 children)

And good too. She’s an evil whiny bitch. Lae’zel is where it’s at. And Astarion of course.

[–] dansemacabreingalone@lemmy.dbzer0.com 0 points 12 hours ago (1 children)

an evil whiny bitch

I feel personally attacked. Can we avoid splash damage in the future?

[–] vzqq@lemmy.blahaj.zone 0 points 3 hours ago (1 children)

Why do you feel personally attacked?

Describes me too well.

[–] teft@piefed.social 10 points 20 hours ago

My barbarian is an orc and just too stupid to die.
