Welcome to the News community!
Rules:
1. Be civil
Attack the argument, not the person. No racism/sexism/bigotry. Good faith argumentation only. This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban. Do not respond to rule-breaking content; report it and move on.
2. All posts should contain a source (url) that is as reliable and unbiased as possible and must only contain one link.
Obvious biased sources will be removed at the mods’ discretion. Supporting links can be added in comments or posted separately but not to the post body. Sources may be checked for reliability using Wikipedia, MBFC, AdFontes, GroundNews, etc.
3. No bots, spam or self-promotion.
Only approved bots, which follow the guidelines for bots set by the instance, are allowed.
4. Post titles should be the same as the article used as source. Clickbait titles may be removed.
Posts which titles don’t match the source may be removed. If the site changed their headline, we may ask you to update the post title. Clickbait titles use hyperbolic language and do not accurately describe the article content. When necessary, post titles may be edited, clearly marked with [brackets], but may never be used to editorialize or comment on the content.
5. Only recent news is allowed.
Posts must be news from the most recent 30 days.
6. All posts must be news articles.
No opinion pieces, Listicles, editorials, videos, blogs, press releases, or celebrity gossip will be allowed. All posts will be judged on a case-by-case basis. Mods may use discretion to pre-approve videos or press releases from highly credible sources that provide unique, newsworthy content not available or possible in another format.
7. No duplicate posts.
If an article has already been posted, it will be removed. Different articles reporting on the same subject are permitted. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.
8. Misinformation is prohibited.
Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.
9. No link shorteners or news aggregators.
All posts must link to original article sources. You may include archival links in the post description. News aggregators such as Yahoo, Google, Hacker News, etc. should be avoided in favor of the original source link. Newswire services such as AP, Reuters, or AFP, are frequently republished and may be shared from other credible sources.
10. Don't copy entire article in your post body
For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.

It's just symbolic. This won't get past the MAGA leaders in the House, let alone the pre-boomers in the Senate.
So they shouldn't even try?
Yes. So that the same people can complain that the democrats don‘t do anything. 👍
I'd love for the Dems to start acting like an actual opposition party, but they're owned by the same billionaires and not much has changed in the ten years since the party took a collective shit on Bernie so Hillary Clinton could have "Her Turn" like it was owed to her.
He’s old as fuck. Skip the peach and embalm him.
Just pop out a corner and go BOO!
Gross, why would I want to preserve that orange sack of goo?
They could put him on display so people go spit on his corpse.
A dollar per spit saves the economy!
It would make a fun pinata! Maybe money would fall out or something
Its just McDonald's wrappers and old fries.
I have zero faith that this country will remove him.
This is the first time they've done it in the face of an impending blue wave, though. I was actually considering just a few days ago that, given the polls, republicans removing trump might be their only chance (besides a full-on military coup) at retaining any shred of power through midterms. What's left of the republican party will fall flat on its face without trump (as cults typically do), but they also can't afford to keep him around because he's so supremely unpopular.
They've really backed themselves into a corner. Now the question is: how overtly fascist are they willing to go? Is the impeachment just a hedge to try and survive midterms? Guess we'll see...
Won't even impeach him this time.
They couldn't even pass a measure to pause hostilities against Iran, there's no way they will have the 2/3 senate vote needed to remove him from office. I doubt it even has the 50% house vote to advance the impeachment process to that stage.
The majority of American politicians in office approve of Trump and what he's doing. Maybe after some seats shuffle in the midterms, which is already overly optimistic, there might be margins just slim enough to convince a handful of senators to cross the aisle and vote Trump out of office. But even then, I wouldn't hold out much hope of that happening. MAGA voters remain committed to the cult, and Republican incumbents want to keep those votes to stay in office.
The GOP always puts party before country.
But the unfortunate truth is that if you look at all serious presidential impeachments, the votes went almost exactly down party lines. Regardless of the party. Fortunately for the left, though, this time it's Republicans who are clearly in the wrong.
IIRC, no senator had ever voted to convict an impeached president in their own party until Mitt Romney did against Trump.
It's just weird to think that they have this big trial, and present tons of evidence, and the most important factor in how you judge the case is which side of the room you're sitting on. Nothing to do with the actual trial.
So, unless Republicans actually start doing their jobs and follow the Constitution and start working to benefit their constituents and stop breaking their oaths of office, the only chance America has for justice is if there is a massive blue wave in the elections this year.
Not when half the population seems to think a man like Elon is the smartest man in the world despite plenty of conveniently ignored evidence to the contrary.
Wouldn’t matter anyway. Most of the government seems to consist of folks that have Trumps dick so far down their throats that he’s solely responsible for the shit that falls out of their asses every time they speak.
The cult in power makes it impossible to do so legally. The only way he'd be removed is by other means.
By the Guilloputine!

TOP. MEN.
Operation Epic Filing
They should have done this long before he threatened to commit genocide as a representative of the nation, but I suppose late is better than never.
Yeah, kidnapping a foreign president isn't exactly legal either... I'm not a Venezuelan apologist by any means but damn... Not a good thing at all.
I'm not a Venezuelan apologist by any means
That's where the discourse often gets stupid.
"Oh, so you support such and such then?"
No, big brain, we just shouldn't be doing the shit we are doing.
And yet it happened to thunderous applause. The only reason Iran is different is they are still resisting.
I mean if having credible witness statements that he raped a child isn't enough to impeach.. then probably nothing will be
God damn, I didn't realize there were so many, they really haven't gotten much coverage past the initial 2 because the other resolutions never actually made it to full on impeachment hearings/trial.
The last two had numerous Democrats siding with Trump and voting against impeachment which is probably why you didnt hear about them as they want still want you to think they're the opposition party and not a uniparty.
all of those from this term were from the progressive caucus
I'm pretty sure republicans would still support him even if he had his puny hands on their throats.
Y'all are so quick to forget that some GOP alt-right stooge submitted articles of impeachment against Obama every single session or something stupid like that. None of them left committee. I doubt these will either, despite being entirely within the realm of impeachable offenses.
This action should take about two weeks. /s

The snozzberries taste like snozzberries
Just breaking more records, this time his own.
the new thing here is that not from the progressive caucus but an establishment democrat:
In 2025, Larson rejected calls to step aside amidst "generational change" and concerns over his age while facing multiple serious primary challengers after suffering a complex partial seizure on the House floor in February.
For the first time since 1999, Larson faces serious Democratic challengers [for 2026].
There's speculation that he introduced the impeachment articles because he is losing his base at home, as he has a primary challenger. So the possibility is that he doesn't really mean it/care and it's all optics to appeal to a base he doesn't give 2 shits about. I'm not going to disparage the representative, we should be attempting to impeach him every day.
Third times the charm right?
RigHt?!
This aint the third time
I think there have been more than 2 already.
Its not an actual impeachment until the house votes in favor and it goes to a senate trial.
Which has happened twice already.
The first impeachment of Donald Trump
The second impeachment of Donald Trump
He was acquitted both times by the Senate
