Sure when you watch something out of order it is bound to make no sense!
Obviously itβs Star Wars (a long time ago), Stargate (near future), Star Trek (far future)
Is Stargate not the near past? They just haven't revealed it to our contemporary selves.
Each Stargate show/movie took place in the same time period it was released. So I guess by now, it would all technically be "near past", but it was meant to be "present" at the time
Wouldn't you start with a gate, which leads you to a trek, which leads you to a war.
Or perhaps you're fleeingβ trekkingβ to the gate from the war

Stargate, where they discovered the gate to the stars
Star trek where they travel the universe and meet new civilizations
Star wars is then those interstellar civilisations go into wars.

An epic tale of finding the way to then seek out new life and new civilizations...and kill them.
Reminds me of when I watched half of the first season of The Expanse only to realize I softball started with season four.
I really did think the writers were giving the viewer too much credit. They wanted me to read between the lines a LOT.

I think the entire Rocky franchise went off the rails with The Rocky Horror Picture Show. It didn't even have any boxing in it.

I'm pretty sure you can headcannon Stargate to link Star Wars to Star Trek. Star Wars shows alien worlds in the distant past with advanced technology, Stargate shows modern people discovering that ancient alien technology and starting to become aware of the wider universe (iirc) and Star Trek shows people in the future that have become a part of that wider universe

I love a good anthology series. Can be confusing as hell though.
I was high when I first watched Star Trek: The Motion Picture. And yeah, it made no sense, but I think that would have been true regardless.
That looks like a great movie night to me.
Starts and ends well, but that's a long boring middle.
