badposting is a comm where you post badly

This is not a !the_dunk_tank@hexbear.net alternative. This is not a !memes@hexbear.net alternative. This is a place for you to post your bad posts.

Ever had a really shitty bit idea? Joke you want to take way past the point of where it was funny? Want to feel like a stand-up comedy guy who's been bombing a set for the past 30 minutes straight and at this point is just saying shit to see if people react to it? Really bad pun? A homemade cringe concoction? A cognitohazard that you have birthed into this world and have an urge to spread like chain mail?

Rules:

  1. Do not post good posts.
    • Unauthorized goodposting is to be punished in the manner of commenting the phrase "GOOD post" followed by an emoji that has not yet been used in the thread
    • Use an emoticon/kaomoji/rule-three-abiding ASCII art if the rations run out
  2. This is not a comm where you direct people to other people's bad posts. This is a comm where you post badly.
  3. This rule intentionally left blank.
  4. If you're struck for rule 3, skill issue, not allowed to complain about it.

Code of Conduct applies just as much here as it does everywhere else. Technically, CoC violations are bad posts. On the other hand: L + ratio + get ~~better~~ worse material bozo

if you are getting sunburnt to the point that skin is peeling you are doing major damage to your skin, melanin or not.

I got a couple good burns wade fishing when I was in my teens (I'm upper 40s now) that my dermatologist says was likely the source of all the skin cancer I have suffered in the last two years - three squamous cell removals, three melanoma removals and a Merkels cell sarcoma removal. According to my dermatologist, the real damage happens when you're young. I got lucky and caught the merkels before it really fired off. That shit goes deep and it moves quick.

Please wear proper clothing, and a hat and some sunscreen. You'll be thankful you did in 30 years.

sadness yeah i know, i normally do wear sunscreen but I was only there for 2 days and was naively like "i'll just tan don't worry" (he didn't think about the UV rating being 12) & by the second day when I was very clearly red as hell and my friends were like "you are SUNBURNT" the aloe and sunscreen I put on were both a bit too late.

Careful or you'll get straight up sun poisoning, happened to my pale ass many spring breaks ago

[–] microfiche@hexbear.net 5 points 3 days ago

too little too late

Oh yeah, for sure. Just be safe please. Sunglasses too. UV damages eyes as well as skin. Be the dork who has sunscreen on his nose, glasses, a rash guard and a giant hat on. There will be a day, and likely more than one, where you thank yourself for doing so.

Sweet thing

I've been lost in the light every morning

Glistening's a state of my mind

I've been trying to act on your social cues

But you know I need someone else to tell me what to do

So sweet thing, tell me what to do

Well if I knew, I could be a better man

I could be an elephant elephant-pog

I'd never leave you, not again

I'd be sweet like cinnamon

And if we had nothing to spend

We could always sell my skin

Maybe then the madness ends

Maybe I could love you then

I am in awe of what a good badpost this is.  Thank you, I think, for both the privilege and the curse of having read this.

Wish I could do this. It's just dandruff snacks for me

[–] SupFBI@hexbear.net 6 points 3 days ago

It'd be stupid to let all that dead skin go to waste.

Ewwwww don't eat your skin, friggin Hannibal Lecter over here.

[–] abc@hexbear.net 6 points 3 days ago (2 children)

i know that if someone saw me doing it they'd probably try to commit me but in my mind it is the same thing as eating boogers but better because you can kinda chew the rolled up skin a bit and it also kinda dissolves on your tongue. i know this sounds unhinged but it is so good to my brain

[–] Snort_Owl@hexbear.net 3 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

Picking and eating calloused skin off my hands gives me the exact same satisfaction. When i was a kid i wouldnt bite my nails id just straight eat the skin off my fingers. My nails as a result are flawless

[–] tocopherol@hexbear.net 5 points 3 days ago (1 children)

I mean, our skin probably has something our body can use and maybe the roughage is good for digestion. It's just maximizing your sustainability.

If you leave the peel out for a while it'll shrink a bit but the juices will really concentrate, which creates a polymerization of the tannins in the skin that contributes to the overall balance of flavor. I know you're already worried about supply but you really should save some until it ages properly.

[–] abc@hexbear.net 3 points 3 days ago

maybe i'll do that for the skin on my back but it is itchy and coming off in flakes (that I DON'T CATCH) on its own. the easily accessible areas have basically already been picked clean aside from my legs, but they're looking good they just started to get those 'you have a sheet of dead skin on your legs' air bubbles so I'm sure in a day or two my succulent skin will be ready for consumption
