“I haven’t seen Mexico since I was four,” Ceballos said. “I don’t speak Spanish anymore. If I get deported, it would wreck my life.”

Oh no!... hahahahahahahaha get fucked your racist piece of shit

[–] StupidBrotherInLaw@lemmy.world 8 points 4 hours ago (1 children)

Ceballos also acknowledged that he “probably” voted for Kobach and former president Donald Trump several times because he automatically selects the candidates with an “R” beside their names.

Absolute fucking numpty here.

Doesn't that make "vote blue, no matter who" an equally dumb thing to do?

[–] The_Almighty_Walrus@lemmy.world 4 points 2 hours ago* (last edited 2 hours ago) (2 children)

Yes. Voting straight ticket is for lazy people who can't be bothered to look up who their voting for. Or for cult members of either side. Unfortunately many states (like the one I'm in) only allow you to vote for one party in the primaries, when most normal people would want to vote different people for different positions based on their individual policies. We should vote for people, not parties.

Open primaries. Rank-choice voting. Abolish the EC.

Also, a socialist revolution

[–] A_Random_Idiot@lemmy.world 2 points 2 hours ago

Closed primaries are so fucking stupid.

I read the comments. Its hard to spot but you can just make out the republicans. /s

I know you’re a democrat and thus don’t care about holding dems to account, but don’t think that republicans are equally lawless.

[–] Beero@lemmy.world 1 points 2 hours ago* (last edited 2 hours ago) (1 children)

Fuckin ridiculous trash, Dems are the only ones who resign in shame after almost any scandal. Republicans have no shame it's why they never resign after a scandal, unless they're caught with a dead girl or a live boy.

[–] A_Random_Idiot@lemmy.world 2 points 2 hours ago

Only time Republicans resign is when they see the shit heading for the fan, and they step out of the way to stay out of the spray.

Which is why you see so many Republicans quitting leading up to the midterms.

The SS went after the original Hitler loyalists first

[–] Goldholz@lemmy.blahaj.zone 15 points 11 hours ago (15 children)

A little-known fact is that Hitler's purge of Ernst Roehm and other brownshirts acquired the name "Night of the Long Knives" because Hitler used the phrase (which dates to medieval times) to describe what Roehm allegedly had planned for Hitler in a speech shortly after the event. Hitler never intended his own actions to be called that.

After 50 years on a green card, he never applied for citizenship?!

[–] robocall@lemmy.world 10 points 6 hours ago (2 children)

I guess this question supports the theory that he never knew the difference between the two.

It's depressing to think someone could be so misinformed.

[–] Bronzebeard@lemmy.zip 9 points 5 hours ago

Apparently he's been illegally voting the whole time, so it never made a difference to him.

[–] PhoenixDog@lemmy.world 5 points 6 hours ago (1 children)

No one ever accused Americans of being smart.

[–] nomy@lemmy.zip 3 points 5 hours ago (1 children)

I'm receiving word that according to a lot of people this guy isn't even an American so he can't use that excuse.

[–] PhoenixDog@lemmy.world 2 points 4 hours ago (1 children)

He wanted to be though.

Does wanting to be American when you're not make you more stupid? Like... You're choosing to be American. That must come with some low level of mental intelligence...

[–] nomy@lemmy.zip 2 points 3 hours ago

It's wild, dude is an "illegal immigrant" who came here as a child and ended up mayor of a small town in KS.

He might be proof the American dream is alive and well if he wasn't facing a bunch of felonies and deportation.
