China seems to have positive and negative characteristics. For the non-rich it seems slightly better than the US and worse than (say) Norway. They’re still imperialist although they seem more inclined to use soft power and economic relationships rather than warfare.

But it would be very unusual for someone to speak their dying words in something other than their native language.

That’s not a kite, it’s clearly some sort of bird.

It’s the “last words in Mandarin” that give up the game.

That was early in his career. When Stallone made Cop Land he was a guy who (despite some recent missteps) could get movies made. He chose the role to show his acting ability. Once Vin Diesel had that kind of juice he put riders into his contracts about whether or not his character could lose a fight.

I remember seeing this and thinking “wow, he can actually act.” And it’s inconceivable that someone like the Rock or Vin Diesel would do a movie like that.

The comment about a Nazi regime is accurate-Hitler argued no one would care about the holocaust because no one cared about what the US did to native Americans.

A self-insert (by the author) character who is unreasonably good at everything they attempt.

Stallone had some range at one time.

Hence the “/s” tag.

Of course the industry doesn’t want them to unionize. That’s like half the reason to do it.

Rochester city councilor calls for removal of bike lanes

iPhone 17 Pro, iOS 26.2. When looking at a post if I sleep my phone and unlock it, the Voyager window will look shrunken, not filling the screen. The top bar remains the same. Force quitting and reopening resolves the issue.

The absolute scale of this

I’d like to hear from people who are living in the region, what specific things Nicholas Maduro did that made him notably bad. I realize that I live in an American media bubble, so the coverage I see is biased.

Their snouts are too long and their eyes are weird. They’re not cute, they’re another cautionary tale about selective breeding like pugs.

When I long press to pull up the context menu so I can save a photo, after I hit save the photo is zoomed in and does not respond to a double tap to zoom out. Is anyone else seeing this issue?

I have to go to a medical office at a hospital for some tests today. Not only does an ostensibly non-profit entity that makes an obscene amount of money from people who are sick or injured have the gall to charge for parking, but they have switched from the method of getting a ticket and paying later to an app that collects your data. I’m so fucking sick of every moment in life being monetized.

I want to start running, and I was going to start with a couch to 5k app. However, every app is either a subscription or wants access to every scrap of data on my phone, which should not be necessary to track my running and play music. Can anyone recommend an iOS app that does C25K without subscription or data mining? I’m happy to pay a one time purchase.
