This feels like a very 2002 era scandal that has materialized in 2026. Honestly feels anachronistic at this point.

One of the reasons the bottom fell out from liberalism for me was the same exact issues being discussed in the US domestic sphere from 30+ years with no progress in either direction.

This is also exactly the reason I had to put down Leslie Feinberg's Trans Liberation: Beyond Pink and Blue about a page into the chapter at the True Spirit conference -- it's the same shit, and it has been the same shit for 30 years, and as long as the reactionary noise machine is enshrined in the US empire's laws and institutions, it's just going to keep on being this fucking endless pendulum swing where we're either hostages or scapegoats. I guess it's just hard to see any hope when the mask is off and the brownshirts are in the streets rounding up and/or murdering anyone they don't like that particular day of the week.

this is how I first arrived at socialism and was radicalized

the pipeline was "woke SJW / nu-Athiest" -> "antifa" -> Only socialist societies are stable enough to not have fascist and reactionary movements constantly, and have the willingness to crush reactionary movements when they appear

Takes a while after that to research Marxisms specifics and understand how everything fit together, but the initial radicalizing thrust was anti-bigotry and wanting stability, and realizing Liberals would never protect me or the ones I loved

Wonder what they'd do if kids started tearing them down. It wouldn't take much to agitate them.

[–] InevitableSwing@hexbear.net 21 points 2 months ago

I don't know what the GOP would do but the democrats would say that vandalism is wrong and the law-breaking kids should tell their parents to vote!"

how to get your arms broken by the school cop 101

[–] Awoo@hexbear.net 18 points 2 months ago (2 children)

The fact that school cops exist at all continually fucking surprises me.

[–] Kuori@hexbear.net 6 points 2 months ago

20 years ago they were choke slamming 13 year olds into hardwood benches and arresting them for getting into minor scuffles (this is a real childhood memory btw)

I can only imagine what hurting the holy document would get you, particularly in these times. probably shot

In america they have a cop inside the school, this is common and normal to them now. As a euro it shocks me every time I hear it too. I don't think anywhere else in the world does this.

[–] MohammedTheCommunistPalestinian@hexbear.net 4 points 2 months ago (2 children)

wtf is a cop doing in a school, how is that normal ????

[–] john_brown@hexbear.net 1 points 2 months ago (2 children)

What they're supposed to be doing is protecting students from school shooters, which has never actually happened. What they actually do is assault and arrest children for misbehavior.

[–] invalidusernamelol@hexbear.net 3 points 2 months ago

Our SRO (they call them 'School Resource Officers') would chase people down and literally break their arms and ankles if he thought they might have like a gram of weed in their backpack.

He broke at least 5 kids appendages while I was in highschool. They were all poor kids though, so the school just said 'you shouldn't have been suspicious kid' and made those children apologize to the officer who broke their wrists and ankles.

SHALT NOT COVET THY NEIGHBORS [HORSE]

What a bunch of cowards! It's ASS, everyone knows it's ASS!

[–] SorosFootSoldier@hexbear.net 10 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

Back in the day an ass was a sign you made it, now it's the lifted f-150 in the driveway, how far we've fallen...

It says House, the one about Asses and Wives is the next one and they swap it with Cattle.

Lawgivers? Warfighters? What’s with this newspeak?

[–] Speaker@hexbear.net 11 points 2 months ago (1 children)

I think warfighter is a type of bloodthirsty wokeness to include military personnel who aren't professional soldiers.

DEI for Mercenaries

[–] purpleworm@hexbear.net 7 points 2 months ago (1 children)

I have no explanation for warfighter but lawgiver is an old term.

[–] Ram_The_Manparts@hexbear.net 2 points 2 months ago (1 children)

I think the old norse had those guys

[–] SoyViking@hexbear.net 3 points 2 months ago

No, that was lawspeakers or lawmen, wise old men who had memorised the law and who would recite it at annual thing assemblies. Norse society was still operating on customary law and the idea of someone having the gall to create a brand new legal code would probably be alien to them.

Lawman, or løgmaður, is still used as the official title of the Faroese prime minister.

I think it's amazing putting your face across from Moses and trying to basically position yourself as divine authority. Also, it's a little hack but I need to point out:

You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.

-- Exodus 20:4

Include this with every fuckwad agressive move Trump does.

Take vuvuzela-flag for example.

Thou shalt not murder. - Over his extrajudicial murders on fishermen and those killed in Maduro's extraction.

Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's posesions / steal - the oil and natural resources of Venezuela / kidnapping Maduroa and his wife.

Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor - Falsely claiming Venezuela is a US drug problem and lying about the Cartel of the Sun to justify theft and murder.

No other gods before me - Crapitalism is the cult of crap worship.

Here's a cropped version. Nice that they included the slaves and wives translation.
