I liked him enough, right up until he freaked out over KG’s “Next time, don’t miss” comment. After that, he can go fuck himself.

Yeah, I’ve always felt he was mid but likable until that moment.
Why was he angry at Kilograms?
Kyle Gass, his band member on Tenacious D. He made that comment after the assassination attempt on Trump.
Oh yeaaaahhh, I remember hearing about that.
I just avoid Jack Black stuff usually, but there's a good reason to actually avoid him in case he does a new movie that's actually good.
Why did he get mad about that? That's relatively tame considering the source.
Probably because he got more popular than kg and forgot who he is.
He's an Imperialist.
Isn’t this the guy who was in Tenacious D with Rage Kage?
young nasty man
I heard Kyle quit the band.
Dude, I totally miss you
I really fucking miss you
I'm all alone
All the time, all the time
Unlike the barrage of hate below, I actually don’t dislike Black — but I’m still glad this didn’t work out because Jason Lee has a perfect voice/delivery for animation. Surprised he hasn’t done more of it.
I still liked him up until the point he suspended Tenacious D over Gass' birthday wish. They're a rock band, of course they're supposed to say and do controversial shit! Black backed out of it just to save his Hollywood prospects and I find that cold and calculating of him.
Otherwise known as the day Jack Black killed the metal
Wow. I’ve seen that movie 300+ times and never realized that was Lee.
‘Why Was I Being So Difficult?
Because you're an arrogant fuck who thinks he's more important than he is, I'm sick of Jack Black and his single note acting style. He phoned it in in the Minecraft movie, he's pretty much just the same annoying fuck in everything he does, it was funny 20 years ago, not so much now.
He is cast for that and his name. Like most big hollywood actors/actresses, they are all type cast.
is casted
is cast
I think you mean cost. Easy mistake.
No, that is how much you pay for something. I think you ment crash.
No, that's what happens when vehicles collide. I think you meant cash.
I almost always hate his films because he plays Jack Black. But I actually really, really liked his performance in Bernie. It's a great film based on actual events and absolutely worth going in blind. He plays a different role to his usual fare and made me wonder if he would go on to do more interesting stuff, but then nobody watched it and he went back to the same shit he always does.
Isn’t it a similar thing for Adam Sandler? He’ll do an uncut gems every decade, but his go to movies are just to make money and hang out with his friends.
just to make money and hang out with his friends.
Love what you do and you'll never work a day in your life.
I remember going to see Punch Drunk Love, and the utter confusion on the faces of people coming out of the earlier showing. They had clearly gone to see an Adam Sandler movie, not a PT Anderson movie.
Sometimes a role needs Jack Black, he is perfect in High Fidelity.
It blows my mind that you would waste time seeing that Minecraft movie. The ads were torture…
I pirated it lol.
I think the person you were responding to was more confused as to why you'd want to see it in the first place, not that you'd have paid to watch it.
I like Minecraft and wanted to see if it was gonna be shit or not.
There's a lot of actors now who bring the exact same energy to every role no matter if it calls for it or not, and I really don't get how they remain actors when that is the one thing you really don't want out of actors. I dunno.
He phoned it in in the Minecraft movie
... that's your metric?
thank fuck he wasn't in it. he's only gotten more insufferable over time as it is, I'd have probably liked it less if it was his voice coming out. the character was great in high fidelity, too bad he can't turn that bullshit off and do ANYthing else.
I'm just glad for every movie he's not in
Brad Bird doesn’t need rewrites.
Because he conflates being easy to cast with being talented and important.
Jason Lee always does a great job. I haven’t liked Jack Black since his role in The Jackal.
Right, let's just put this guy in every movie ever, would that be enough?
